If the HBG board were all pulling in the same direction after the review the current leadership wouldnt have ousted the former chair and directors. None of us really know what their motives are for the infighting but their is no doubt it is impacting on the effectiveness of their ability to run the club, and as WTs supporters we are all entitled to be concerned about that and question their right to hold such positions.

You need to go back and re read a few of the posts. Just on the name change bullshit - there is no evidence whatsoever that this was actually suggested by HBG. All Andrechios said was he had a " fear" that this is what they want and Chammas jumped on it. Neither Chammas or Andrechios have put forward any evidence to support the claim. Nor have they provided any detail as to how they would do it given that the licence is under the name of Wests Tigers. But as usual half the forum go off their nut over some clickbait.

It’s not click bait. It’s been a year ! The findings still haven’t been implemented !
And Romero and Burgess in particular , wete booted from the wests tigers board as per the reviews recommendations , and then politic through the HBG archaic board structure, to find Burgess back on . When the review specifically said that the board members needed to be replaced .
And now through multiple people at the club , it’s revealed , what people on here who actually know these people mentioned when the Romero HBG ticket got in , that this type of rhetoric would rear its ugly head again . Ie . “WetS BwInG BaCk Da MaGgIeS”.
It’s everyone’s greatest fear . Maybe it is hyperbole , and rabble rousing . But to imply it has no basis in reality , is just not true !
I personally hate the fact the club is run this way ! Both Balmain and Wests and anyone who pines for the old days , honestly needs to at best watch from afar !
This club with the amount of quality that’s come through the joint both in coaching , support staff and playing group , should never have ever been in this position.
But yet here we are arguing on a forum about how shit the club is , in 2024, because for pretty much the clubs inception neither Balmain , wests Cambo , and more recently and totally the HBG , are more worried about where thier seat is in the corporate box , than the actual club being successful . At least wests Cambo , had the integrity to remove themselves .
The best clubs in world sport , nearly all of them barely break even , or run at a loss . Why ? Because the ownership group has a win at all costs mentality , and enable to club to go out and do what it takes.
At what point ever in this club , has anyone at these levels ever had that mentality ?
And that’s the issue . And it absolutely sux .

If there was no noise about infighting coming directly via our leadership these threads would not exist and we would all be focussed on a good off season recruitment drive.
But instead our board has stirred up the age old us against them crap - in what ever that form is - and leave us all questioning their motives.
Our leadership owns this BS. - and any fan reaction whether you agree or disagree has been generated on the back of the people who we are relying on to run the club.

The Holman Barnes Group emphatically rejects claims made by the Sydney Morning Herald about its intention to move away from the Wests Tigers. It is untrue.

Holman Barnes Group Chair, Julie Romero, said: “The Holman Barnes Group slogan is ‘be true to the review’ and we mean it. Our commitment is to the West Tigers and ensuring the Wests Tigers is positioned for success. Seeing reports suggesting anything other than our total commitment to the Club is disappointing.”


“We will not be moving away from Wests Tigers and to claim that is fiction. The Group is disappointed to see damaging inaccuracies reported.”

The Group also notes it is nearing the completion of a process involving a formal investigation by an external third party and disciplinary hearings regarding alleged misconduct of three individuals who held directorships on the Board (Directors). Under the Constitution, the Directors involved have an opportunity to respond to the allegations against them before any final decision is made.

Due to the confidential nature of the process and with respect to those involved the Group will not comment further until this process is complete and it expects that all parties involved to be equally respectful.

While this process is ongoing, the Directors in question have been suspended from all privileges of membership.

The investigation is a Holman Barnes Group matter and does not impact the football department at Wests Tigers.

Holman Barnes Group CEO, Simon Cook, reaffirmed his commitment to the Wests Tigers and said: "Holman Barnes Group is a very successful organisation that has had continued success over many years.

I just want a board that’s more worried about breaking new ground , than the ground that’s not just been filled in , but paved over , and complete new structure put on top of it .
If the blue wiggle hadn’t come out and said the stuff about Balmain recently , I’d advocate for him . He’s managed to turn silly songs for kids into a multi billion dollar business , and more importantly managed to transition a new generation , and succession . That’s not easy ! Changing Landscapes , interests etc. that’s clearly a guys , who can move with the times and transition.
We need a new generation of board , fit for purpose for 2024 . This stuff that’s happening only reinforces the fact most of these guys are very much apart of the past . Not the future! Either faction !!

Im over the garbage that is constantly bought up in regard to the "Magpies V Tigers crap..
The 2 old clubs merged as one 25 years ago and many of my Maggies friends as well as my Tigers mates are glad that the merger happened,,
Myself and my friends love being fans,members and supporters of the Wests Tigers....A great partnership of two wonderful foundation clubs that has bought 2 fanbases together as well as given our younger people a great club to support..
The shame of it all is that the people that are appointed to look after this wonderful enterprise havent grown up enough to realise how great this club can be..
THEY FAIL to see the "TIGERS" brand is to big to dissolve and the NRL would lose bigtime if it were to dissappear...

I remember 10-12 years ago, these arguments did everything bar cause bloodshed. These days, it just feels like the last few flickering embers. There definitely isn’t the vitriol that there used to be. I think gave up on these arguments after reading someone say that no Balmain player was ever dumb enough to have a seizure in the ocean and drown. That’s how far we’d sunk. I didn’t want any more part of it after that.

HBG need to tread carefully here.

This could be the catalyst for a showdown at the next licence renewal where a Balmain backed consortium goes head to head with HBG for the NRL licence.

I would imagine Triguboff, Elias, Blue Wiggle et al would be right up for that. HBG aren't going to get much support given the way things have gone since they became majority owners and Harry has deeper pockets.

Not saying this would be ideal, but people start thinking of ways around these situations when there doesn't seem a way forward.

The way HBG run the club and the fact they are not accountable to members, means the club is held hostage by these clowns and we can't see a way out.

The sad story of the joint-venture called the WESTS TIGERS continues. We now have the SMH journalist M Chammas (spelling ?) spilling the beans on a current Wests Ashfield Board Member re-igniting the call for the return of the Wests MAGPIES to replace the Wests Tigers! I can't stress enough the need to either wind up the joint-venture or bury the Magpies and Balmain for good. The club is the Wests TIGERS and has been for 24 odd years. If the NRL want to eventually get to a 20 team competition it needs to bring in independent administrators to run the club and finally introduce some stability. If that eliminates Wests Ashfield and their financial support from having a say then so beit. The name of "Wests Tigers" is important, and the NRL can offer the name and the licence to the highest bidder. Alternatively (not my preference) just shut down the Wests Tigers and offer the licence to a franchise like the NZ ORCAS. Surely WT supporters are over the infighting and seemingly bad press that appears every few months. Please Magpie and Balmain supporters move on, and just accept the club as Wests Tigers or sadly hand back the licence and follow your team in the NSW Cup. I loved the Magpies but that is over, and I am tired of this "never ending story". The dominance of Wests Ashfield with their constant reminder of owning 90% of the joint-venture is now bordering on pathetic, and this is where the NRL need to step in and take control, for the sake of the genuine WESTS TIGERS supporters.

The dinosaurs will be extinct in 15 years, chill out.

Who cares about Balmain … honestly ? It should be wests tigers and that alone .

I could not be more underwhelmed by the apparent performance of Romero and Burgess, amazing to think this BS is still going on after we've had an independent review and collected 3 wooden spoons.

You'd think the muppets would have some respect and toddle off into the sunset. Even if they might be nice well-meaning people, we've changed absolutely everything about the club this past decade except the Board. Clearly under their stewardship we've failed and failed and failed, and it's time to give a new set of skilled people a turn.
