He is 100% right. Lidcombe Oval is the traditional ground of the Magpies. They were an inner west club.
I remember floating the idea of a member elected board a while back and being told it would be unstable, chaotic and too political. Well thank God we avoided that!

I just happen to disagree TS, but you knew I would anyway.
If the NRL approve it, I feel a change to an independent name just like 1 or 2 independent board members, would solve a lot of the bickering.
And.......you wouldn't have to put up with me asking repeatedly to please use WESTS when referring to our team. Now that's gotta be a big bonus surely.
I really and truly reckon the Western Sydney BUSHRANGERS sounds great, and the poster who thunk this up should be applauded 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.
And being Bushrangers, we could change our colours to camouflage and they would have a hard time seeing us on the field.
And that's gotta be an 'even bigger' bonus I reckon.

I originally started this thread of which the site overseers decided to change the name. I was called all sorts of names for suggesting that the NRL needed to seriously consider tearing up the Wests Tigers licence to play 1st grade (paraphrased) and Wests Ashfield only be responsible for entering the Magpies in the NSW Cup because of the club infighting and the impact it was having in respect of on field performances (a threepete of wooden spoons) as well as the savagery of the media. As a long term Magpie supporter (since 1964) Balmain TIGER supporters have been treated like mugs. I will repeat that I have believed from day one that the joint-venture was doomed for failure, and hence zero culture was never going to develop in this divided club. Shame on all Wests Magpie supporters throwing up the Wests Ashfield's 90% ownership. Magpies were dead in the water without the generous offer from Balmain to forge a partnership. This latest Holman Barnes Board fiasco only reiterates that the Joint-venture cannot work, and the NRL need to step in and save the name WESTS TIGERS for the sake of the current generation of supporters. I love the Magpies but I am embarrassed and my support of the great game of Rugby League is slowly slipping away.
The true Aussie spirit and the British Bulldog spirit demand that we have to keep battling till we reach our zenith TS.
And that's not because it's easy, but because it's hard.
We shall fight them on the beaches, we shall go on to the end, we shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we will fight with growing confidence, and we will win.
And that includes Wests Magpies as well as Wests Tigers.

True but Lidcombe wasn't the regular venue until 1962, prior to that there was only 7 games at Lidcombe the first in 1941.
By the way from 1908 to 1999 Western Suburbs played 246 games at Lidcombe (August 31, 1941 - August 31, 1986) and 345 at Pratten Park (August 24, 1912 - August 18, 1985).
I was going to say "from 1908 to 1999 the Magpies played" but they weren't the Magpies until the late 1920's so corrected it to Western Suburbs.
My sister in law's brother's daughter's cousin was born with very thin hair due to it being a family thing like people born with a big nose or big ears.
Anyway, my sister in laws brothers' daughter's cousin was very conscious of her hair and for a woman that's bad. So, when she went outside, she would plonk a wig on her head.
A lot of us blokes go bald, but not me, it's only natural.
So, in essence what I am saying is, if it's right for you it's ok by me.
