Honest objective assessment

Taking the two when receiving a penalty in the red zone, just does not fit our style of play.

We're at our best when playing 'adlib footy'. Being conservative and structured is required in defense, but when on the attack we need to loosen up, and honestly in all the time Madge has been here he always makes us take the two, and it never works for us.

We're always criticised for not having a personality as a team, its because we have players that suit a certain style of play, being forced into being conservative and robotic.

let the boys play madge, just let them play

1st one yes ...2nd one no

We'd had the ball for 4 minutes straight by that stage ...score then and you'd probably almost break the Warriors

Even if you don’t score , you tire them out and got the ball back a minute later. Kick for goal took 2 minutes of the clock and put us back on our tryline.

The 1st one is fine .....you want to square the ledger ...2nd one lacked logic ......scoring then and the Warriors are just about done for ...even against us

I wouldn't have taken the 1st one, but understand why we did. The 2nd was unforgivable.

My thinking for the 1st one .....you turn the ball over meekly on the 1st few tackles and our confidence would have hit rock bottom ......square the scores .....get on the back of a good set and grind v 12 ....

We aren't killers ...we hope opposition sides stumble over trip wires or wipe themselves with friendly fire lol

Which is why we lose games like tonight, have some courage and go out swinging.

The only way this side would go out swinging would be if we grabbed a set of keys from the bowl .....

in principle I agree, however, as we are talking about the WT version 2021, it could easily be worse, i.e. Mbaye forward pass, Sayfarth knocks the ball, Garner gets the ball in the open space - but he is too slow, Talau gets the ball with 3-4 players around him and he is taken over the line ...

The kick gave them a two minute rest and their second wind. I reckon we win that game if we go for the try even if we didn’t score at that moment. That’s the point I was trying to make.

It didn't work out tonight but it was probably the 'correct' decision.

I can guarantee you not one person would have thought we were going to win that game by 2 points. We needed another try. Why give them a two minute rest when they are down to 12. Stupid stupid decision

If tigers can’t afford another coach right now to “rebuild” yet again I would have said to sack madge right now, from the 1st penalty goal not the 2nd which was diabolical .
Seriously excluding the game after when was the last game that the game was decided by less than 6 points let alone two points .
You had a player in the bin not only did they waste a couple of minutes but allowed them a breather . The current game is about keeping momentum and tiring the opposition .
Current game is not like 2 years ago which the roosters perfected by giving away penalties and hugely slowing the Ptb on the line (all teams below the top 5 can’t defend on their line ). The game has surpassed madge and his tactics.
Also seems the only time this team plays is when the game is over and they attack and don’t follow the structures they been given . Been doing this all year

I only want Madge gone if their is someone better out there

I'm still not convinced ....

But if we don't get a real quality back rower in the next 12-18 months ......

2nd one was debatable but, I can’t take some of posts seriously ... us ? Going for the jugular, or how about basic counting numbers. What about defensive cohesion between you and the bloke right bloody next to you?! Standing and turning/chasing in sync with the rest of the team as practised all week???

Nah - I’m keen to see who gets their chance. Madge took his in coming here and will fall on his sword for/with these players.

Tonight was the worst performance I’ve seen in 15 years. It was that bad.

There was no way to lose it. We didn’t even bottle it, we just half-arsed it right up until the dying seconds which is in our DNA

The first one was weak, but levelling the scores with 9.5 of a player in the bin is one thing. The second penalty kick was madness. Still too long left in the game to be so negative. We wasted so much time taking the kicks, gave them a breather when they needed it, then weakly attempted to work off our line .

That second decision sunk us. Who made the call?

We never recovered from this.

We played poorly, and deservedly lost to the superior side. We can only dream of playing as well as the warriors are.

Their best were 2 of our players and Doueihi calling for Brooksy to let him take the 1st penalty... saying to settle it down.

We must’ve played at least as good as the Warriors last week, and also for a big chunk of leading tonight, considering Knights are higher than us on the ladder, or are you that one-eyed. They didn’t deserve to win at all they simply played the more positive football, and it seems you’re acting like this is some kind of unforeseen new issue that we find ourselves confronted with?

Also if the boys aimed up on Walsh there is absolutely no way it’s possible to explain how he’s looked that good against *only* us...
