3rd season and we’re still diabolical

The bench rotation is a big issue - Blore got less than 15 minutes and Simpkin only played a similar amount...it's a waste and he may as well only stick 2 players on the bench if that's how he's going to use them.

Blore is going to need a stint in KOE just to get his match fitness up again.

Taking the 2 twice just goes to show we have no faith in our abilities to score a try even with the extra man

We just can't finish off a game or go for the kill
We don't have it in us
You take the two to win If there is a couple of minutes to go
You don't take it when the opposition has time to score again, twice

Our players have no faith in their own abilities
It has now become a major psychological issue
We never seem to be able to win the close games
Sitting through 70 minutes of football nearly every week hoping for the win only to be let down again

It is so depressing

Honest objective assessment

Taking the two when receiving a penalty in the red zone, just does not fit our style of play.

We're at our best when playing 'adlib footy'. Being conservative and structured is required in defense, but when on the attack we need to loosen up, and honestly in all the time Madge has been here he always makes us take the two, and it never works for us.

We're always criticised for not having a personality as a team, its because we have players that suit a certain style of play, being forced into being conservative and robotic.

let the boys play madge, just let them play

I thought it was a reasonable move, it got us in front, I am sure they never expected that our defence would let us down so badly.
But that is covering up some appalling plays earlier in the game anyway, where we shouldn't have been in the position.

If I was a player in reserves killing it and wasn't given an opportunity to run in 1sts after some of the constant performances from our Guys, I would be looking at another club
There in no reward for good performances
Why persist with players in 1sts when they simply don't perform
Look at Reece Walsh
Moves from Brisbane and gets a chance at the Warriors
He is so young yet made our players look like boys
The should all be embarrassed

We were beat by an 18 year old with the confidence of seasoned FGer and RTS. Can't underestimate the value of a couple of quality players.

They had back to back sin bins. They played with 12 men for 20minutes and out scores us 12-4.

How many players have you seen play that well. I've been watching rugby league for say 40 years. I can't remember too many players having a game to that high standard.

If that kid keeps at that level he will be a great player.

The issue is that a player like that comes along once every blue moon. There aren't 1000's of them running around just waiting for the chance for a coach to pick them.

I’m all in on the first 2 pointer, the second one a maybe. You grab the 2 on offer get the ball back and spread it wide. Trouble is we don’t have fox and Coates on the flanks. Possession is the key with the opposition 1 down. Lifting the tempo of the game after getting a 2 pointer can be just as damaging. But the way Brooks was kicking, I probably play on on the 2nd .

Thought the same. Us going through the middle with a 13 on 12 was just infuriating.

True dat ...can you imagine the beetroot facial expressions if they didn't follow his instructions ......

The decision sums us up perfectly. Next time Madge says "That is not Wests Tigers" someone should show him vision of us taking the 2 when playing against 12 men, not once but twice.

The 1st one is fine .....you want to square the ledger ...2nd one lacked logic ......scoring then and the Warriors are just about done for ...even against us

I wouldn't have taken the 1st one, but understand why we did. The 2nd was unforgivable.

My thinking for the 1st one .....you turn the ball over meekly on the 1st few tackles and our confidence would have hit rock bottom ......square the scores .....get on the back of a good set and grind v 12 ....

Absolutely squandered the time they were down a man.

Shocking game management and as has previously been mentioned they kill us attack wise while only having 12 on the ground.

I don’t blame Blore, for some reason he as kept on the bench for the majority of the game so he has to hit the ground running ... “Pinky” didn’t have to throw the pass if it was wasn’t on.

I get why they did it, if we had lost by 2 points of if we had not scored, we would be crucifying them.

However, this game was never going to come down to 2 points. We backed our defence and not our attack. We were never going to defend 2 points..

We'd had the ball for 4 minutes straight by that stage ...score then and you'd probably almost break the Warriors

Even if you don’t score , you tire them out and got the ball back a minute later. Kick for goal took 2 minutes of the clock and put us back on our tryline.

The first one I agree with, but the second wasn’t on. However the amount of times Brooks dummied and went himself instead of passing did my head in. He really is a clueless halfback that will rarely win you games. But it’s across the park where we play some dumb football at very important times.
