Tallyn Da Silva #270

With the Bulldogs snatching Galvin and telling Mahoney that he is free to negotiate leaves me to believe Gus has for at least the last season & a half to pry Galvin & DaSilva from Wests Tigers.

I think Gould has Isaac Moses number on speed dial. I'd love to see the Tigers get payback and poach a couple of future stars from Gould & Co.

I believe the Tigers without Galvin are a better side, he hogs the ball and makes some terrible decisions, not quite first grade quality. Unfortunately Da Silva is a different kettle of fish and would be a far worse loss than that of Galvin. I sincerely hope Galvin doesn't impress and ends up playing for the Dogs Reggies and causes that club some dramas & instability.
The good news is it already is

The Dogs are for sure chasing DaSilva now. If Gus thinks he's copping flack now, just imagine the uproar if the Dogs did poach DaSilva, the media will tear him a new arse hole, Tigers fans that didn't already hate him WILL!

As if Gus cares who hates him lol. He is getting away with it and the NRL let him.
As fans we have no say

If Da Silva cannot see the benefit to his long-term career from learning from the best NSW hooker, he deserves the Dogs.

Why is Gus literally the only club official that is able to circumvent the anti-tampering rules?

Can you imagine if any other GM of Football dropped a quote each month calling a young player the best prospect ever, then had a bunch of quotes about how that player’s current situation was untenable, and eventually signed that player after they agitated for a release. The NRL would have put a stop to it before it got anywhere near the current situation, but instead Gus gets paid to do this shit

News broke on the Monday, by Wednesday Gus hade made public comments on one of his programs sympathising with Galvin and raising concerns over his welfare and mental health. I remember we were saying on here “shit if this bloke is saying this, the official complaint won’t be far away”.
It came 3 days later.

What makes you so confident about the “optics”? Isn’t he going to “test the market “?
sure is, also Brent Reid when he reported we’ve started talks to extend api said he feels that TDS not only will test the market but he won’t even see out his contract he will leave by the end of the year. hate reid but he’s been on the money with galvingate so this is a worry

combine that with his insta story a couple of days ago and his sudden dropping to cup, the writing may be on the wall with this one and richo might already know this

It’s been obvious to me for months that they have decided to roll with Api another couple of years …and they must realise this decision will cost them Da Silva ..: just hope he is happy to play out next year on his deal at this stage …

I think you’re reading too much into some of this. Unlike Young Turdhead, TDS is making noises that he wants to stay. Api is 33 in November and will be 34 when 2027 rolls around. I’d be prioritising TDS if his game warrants it. I love Api but a couple of years on the Perth pension could be his go.

Benji loves Api… for a guy that generally doesn’t shower much praise … Api is definitely an exception in what I have heard directly from Benji … I expect him to be extended despite the age risk you have highlighted … even though I would personally go with TDS

Api seems 100% committed which is a real contrast to his body language. The guy always looks miserable. Granted that’s usually at press conferences after we’ve just lost, but still.

So news comes out that TDS is going to test the market, his best friend who is also leaving ‘likes’ the post. Next thing that comes out is Mahoney is free to leave immediately. This is another masterclass by Gould, I have no doubt it could have been the incentive to get him over the line at dogs over Parra who offered more money.
