The club saw Latu as better than Galvin, which is why we offered Galvin $6 million over 5 years? Come on.
Tucker is 100% spot on here sadly. The narrative only changed after the fact.
It's also plainly obvious that the dominant culture in the team is now a poly heavy culture lead by Luai, May, Turuva etc along with the fact we have the only islander coach in the league.
Galvin clearly didn't fit in and even before the bullying saga, I doubt he was made to feel welcome. It could've been Galvin's ego, could've been Luai's influence, who knows.
Da Silva's might not be as bad a fit from a personality perspective, but after having seen what happened to Galvin along with Koroisau being potentially extended, he doesn't want stick around unless he has a first grade gig guaranteed. Totally understandable.
Comparing playing for a junior footy team to a professional first grade team in 2025 isn't apt. As a junior you play on the weekend and train maybe once or twice a week during the week. As a professional, you're with these guys for 60+ hours a week in the season, from training, to matchday, to functions and sponsorship engagements, to travel. You have to get along with and be accepted by a large number of the squad at first grade level.
We've seen time and time again that talented teams can fall apart when there's something amiss off the field, whereas a team that isn't as talented that plays as a team and is in sync on and off the field overperforms.
