The key thing about Tamou and his age is up ***until now he's been relatively injury free***,

Other than a serious spinal injury that required surgery.

How many games did he miss for this serious injury?

3...your point being?

Are you arguing that an injury to his cervical spine, that resulted in the loss of feeling and movement in one arm, and required surgery and three months recovery is not a serious injury?

My point being he has been relatively injury free.

Didn't slow him down as the following year he helped his team win the competition and then signed a monster deal to join Penrith and captain them to a minor premiership this year.

And my point is that he has had a very serious injury to his neck. Its not nothing and could come back to bite him late in his career.

Yeah I'm sure an injury he had 7 years ago which hasn't affected him since will suddenly become a problem because he hits the magical age of 32.

It's that time of year again...the forum has descended into the worst types of discussions. Can't even be bothered getting involved in some of them. So much negativity.

Probably not and hopefully not. I didnt bring up his neck injury with regards to the wisdom of his signing, merely pointing that my definition of "relatively injury free" doesnt include spinal injury requiring surgery and 3 months rehab.

If you meant he is resilient and hasnt missed many games, I agree with that.

Im not sure his injury bit him late in his career, or whether he was just not that good. Genuinely not sure. You think it was his neck?

He was a regular first grader up to that point. Probably doesn’t help breaking your neck when your 30. Not going to be as resilient as breaking it when your are 20.

What’s holding up the official announcement?

I would guess that it's not yet official..

If this is a done deal we've just picked up Cleary's scraps again. We need to concentrate on our core and up and coming youth. We don't need old heads that don't understand our club and are just looking for a final paycheck.

I really hope this isn't a done deal, if so it's poor recruiting by WT's and Madge

What's to understand about our club? We have been underachieving for so long he might just be able to bring a bit of commitment and consistency to WT.

Curiously ..what do Penrith fans think of him leaving

Who cares...

Mostly I've seen a mix of happy for him, telling us it's a good signing and faint "I wish we could keep him". Not outrage but also not like he wasn't liked by the fans.

He'd be a hard bloke not to like .
Saw him in the pre-season helping fight the fires somewhere out bush, he seems like a real quality bloke IMO.
Would be surprised if he didn't make a real positive impact on our club.

That is exactly what the club believes

Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s named captain or co captain either.

Leadership and personality are massive upsides, statistically he works out very high value as well

If his missus is anything like mine when choosing what food to order, we could be waiting a while yet ☹️

Definately the neck injury really impacted his playing ability, many people bagged the guy,but he was a very handy player before that.he was never the same but he did well to try and comeback from it..I hope he has a great life after football, all the best to him...
