Taupau - 7th Tackle

His dad has said to me that he really appreciates our av lib for giving him a go for a regular spot in first grade when the Bulldogs didn't …he will honour his contract till the end of 2016 & then he will see .
A loyal family man......and yes the Titans will make a serious play for his services .

He will honour his contract?? One would think that is a given….

Not in this day and age unfortunately…

Well Dobbo? on 360 just said the Titans are ready to pounce on a Tigers second rower.

Siro and Taupau.?…Don't know who else they would want, salary cap issues he says.

is the same Bloke who said Tamou was a done deal with the Raiders…?

Did he name the player...Isn't that at odds with what Massoud said...so confused

Hope we have a good year next year and Titans get the spoon

Actually, they can have it this year as well

'Shopping' a backrower around - so doubt that it would be Tapau. More likely Lawrence to clear some salary cap pressure. The Titans will have a crack at Tapau anyway - Gordon Tallis pretty much confirmed that they are after him.

I pray they mean Kyle Lovett… I don't want to lose Lawrence. I feel like he's on track to become one of the best backrowers in the NRL.

I've got a feeling it might be Lawrence, with us paying part of his salary. Would help ease cap pressure and Titans get him at a reduced rate for their cap also.

Lawrence only looks good in our second row because the rest of the backrow are average..Put him in the Roosters pack and he would be just OK…..would you pay $700k for him?.....and I am a fan of Lawrence...

If Lawrence going alleviates/resolves our cap issues...I'm a fan

Lawrence could very well turn out to be our Luke Lewis. He's the first back rower at the club since Ellis I've seen take those huge inside runs back into centre field and runs great lines. His defence on the edge has also been outstanding and he's always hit hard. Should've been there a long time ago.

He's been brilliant in the back row but I understand why the club may look to move him on with the salary cap. Sad, because if he does we may never see just how good he could've been for us as he just wasn't used right since his injuries.

If the club can't keep Marty though, then it's pretty pathetic. He's a superstar and our most aggressive and dominating forward. Throw him a 3 year deal. I'd be pretty devastated if he left considering that WT gave him so much opportunity. Management need to act quickly though before clubs are circling even more and push his price through the roof and we pay overs to hold onto him.

I would hate to lose Lawrence now, he has been phenomenal in the second row. Considering he has only been there for half a season it's remarkable how quickly he has adapted. With a full off season as a forward and anther 12 months on the field I don't think it's unrealistic to think he could play rep footy in the 11 or 12\. Remember he is only 26!

My money would be on Liolevave. Back to his keebra playground. Hasn't had a good season at all. And one of our few back rowers under contract for next season

"The Titans also confirmed New Zealand international backrower Zeb Taia would be joining the club on a two-year deal.

The former Parramatta and Newcastle player has spent three years in the Super League with Catalans Dragons but has been granted an early release with Dave Taylor heading in the opposite direction to join the French club." - must be after more than one….

As I said in another thread it will be Taupau for sure

Every time his name is mentioned up this side of the border that's the talk

The Titans want to make him a marquee signing and the face of the Titans , are talking 500 k +

The Titans also snapped up the other young gun half in Ash Taylor from the Broncs

This kid is the real deal , I heard Manly had him , but something obviously went wrong

Getting back to Taupau , I can't see how we will compete with that offer

Taupau is on peanuts this year and next.
The only Backrower under contract on some coin is Lawrence. He only has a year to go so they may be able to give h a longer deal at a cheaper clip with Tigers meeting $150k odd.

My take from Dobbin made me think it is Taupau. Iirc he alluded to it being down the track (not next year) and that WT we're going to struggle to keep the player (at end of contract), rather than wanting to offload.

Taupau to the Titans makes no sense whatsoever.

We will likely lose him however, my opinion is he ends up with the Warriors or back at the Dogs.
Can't see a gun like him at the Titans unless they are that desperate to pay $1m for a prop. The Titans apart from the NRL are in more strife than the Tigers.
