The club (and Taylan for that matter), needs to see how Taylan reacts to the 'grind' of training 5 or 6 days a week for at least a few weeks to see if he is anywhere near ready mentally for the rigors of NRL. Give the guy some time before throwing him in to first grade. In my opinion, we are next to no chance of playing finals this year, but a fit and healthy Taylan May will certainly help us in the back end of the season to improve our position on the ladder to somewhere near the middle of the comp. That would be a realistic and reasonably satisfactory result for mine.
Fair enough, thank you, but I’d rather a willing attempt at it now.
And I said earlier, I’d take Doogie out and put Taylan next to Star.
And for that, we’d get explosive speed, deft hands, steps, evasive running, strength, gaps, time, space and power and some competent d. A smattering of X factor too.
All those things Doogie wants to be, but simply can’t deliver. It’s not his fault either. I’m a Doogie fan but team first.
And also, maybe the key, his effort, composure and his experience with his panthera.
All these things combine to make the case for his early return.
He would be beyond amped to get an early opportunity. The chances of him letting us down are remote. He will have a swing or die trying. A lot at stake for him and us.
