Taylor calling in to Triple M Rush Hour

He always really impresses me and tonight is no different. Anyone who doubts we are doing the right thing are kidding themsleves. Yes we could stick to focusing on attck and we might finish 12th not 14th this year but we want to make the finals next year not finish 12th and he is going about it the right way

So Taylor called them and requested to talk? Smacks of a man under the pump big time. I can't imagine any top coach going to the trouble of chasing an interview to explain his tactics to the media

215 points conceded at round 11.

Excluding 2011 & 2012 (200 & 205 respectively,) we've conceded less points in at this time of the season since 2007\. The defensive effort is coming together for an inexperienced side, hopefully the attack follows soon.

I disagree completely. I think it showed Taylor for what he is; stubborn and blinkered.

How the hell is HE going to teach this group to "toughen up" , …. a phrase he used repeatedly in that interview?
\
\
HE needs to "toughen up" and accept that criticism goes with the territory of being an NRL coach where 9000 people pay to be members and sponsors tip in thousands of $$.

What in the world prompted him to think that calling into Triple M would do anything to build confidence of members and fans in coaching this team?

Could you imagine Bennett or Robinson or Toovey or Maguire doing that......????

I am m ore concerned than ever now. To me, it showed a fundamental flaw in his character to even think about doing that.

If he didn't have WT executive approval to do request that interview, he needs to be stood down...IMMEDIATELY!

Actually, he opened with something along the lines of "No im not here to blow up, Im here to front up to any questions you have to ask me, as there are alot of frustrated tigers fans out there at the moment who probably want to understand, and hear from me"

Then presented himself well.

They are saying it will be replayed after full time tonight.

Im keen to hear what he said and what was going through his head.

I cant imagine him saying anything other than his usual comments about how crap this club is and what he is doing to fix it.

I just cannot believe the supporters on here who preferred the club when we were a rabble of brittle soft bellied easy beats. Did you think we would lose a few games early and then rise into a Goliath destroying every club in our path?

Other teams have always loved playing us because we were an easy win without too many bruises. Someone has come in and is prepared to build from the foundations and eradicate our easy beats tag, but because we have lost a few games he is a failure.

I like CB's stats as they tell the real picture.

Where is your evidence, other than him saying it, that he is making some long term change to the culture of the club? It's one thing to say it but an infinitely more difficult task to make it happen. And, what he did, publicly, tonight, is to bucket the mob he is supposedly inspiring to work harder and toughen up.

I think it's an outrageous and desperate move for him or the club to decide that he should REQUEST that interview on Triple M.

Forget not paying for next year's membership. I want my money back for this years!!!!!

The good thing about being a bandwagon supporter is you can jump back on, then like the rest of your kind lie to everyone telling them you were there through the thick and thin.

I listened to it (thanks Macca) and thought that he went well. Repeated just about verbatim the post match history lesson on our defensive capabilities, but did stick up for Moses and blamed our middle forwards for our woes rather than edge, and even for not assisting him well enough.

Then ate and came back on here, read through the thread and got to the last sentence above, realised it pretty well covered most of the interview (for want of a better word) and felt a bit flat.

I think this is a valid point people are choosing to miss.

People are getting frustrated because we aren't throwing the ball around but at the same time have been calling for structure and defensive attitude.

It takes time to remove old habits and culture let alone playing structure with a young inexperienced pack who should be getting flogged given how small and young the squad is.

I think it showed he has faith in what he is doing. He could run and hide but he fronted up without being prompted. If a coach doesn't believe in what he I doing then how can the players?

I'm still not sold, but I'm not looking for a quick fix either, that's a Parra thing.

I am here and have been all my life and will be for the rest of my life - jason spoke carefully and with tatic i am happy with the coach and will let him take the lead - he has my support

Why go on about the young team and the inexperienced pack. Taylor created that situation on his own, it shouldnt be used to defend him.

Weak argument if thats all youve got.

Oh really? The rest of "my kind"? Paying members since 2004 you mean? "Bandwagon supporter"?

Really?

One thing I know is that my opinion will count for more than yours with WT management and club if you are not also a long-term paying member.

What are your credentials in that regard?

And, please no "lies".
