Taylor's current thoughts - SMH

It makes you wonder if Gareth Ellis was paid a portion of his last year Contract with us when he got release to go back to England .
Nothing would surprise me now :unamused:

IIRC we did pay part of Ellis's contract for his first year back in the UK.

I get the sense that we've done the same with Blair for this year, as well as front-loaded some other deals to give us a bit more breathing room for the next year or two (hence Go stating we've taken 'drastic action' in her Q&A video).
Still more action required obviously.

I do agree that on top of all the issues at play, the fact we are also playing some boring footy just makes it all the worse.. Originally I was ok with this, as I could see that we were changing our mentality to get our defense in order and not be a soft team…. And let's face it, the modern game is pretty boring with the better teams bashing it forward one out and tough in defence. So in a way I saw it as Taylor moving to play a bit like Roosters and Rabbitiohs etc and I believe they have won the last 2 comps.

Crazily, I would have thought Taylor's game
Plans are actually Simple and that's why it's frustrating that we seemingly can't implement than
Properly on a consistant basis.

So even if we start to play more free flow in footy , that will not necessarily mean we win more games... If our forwards don't dominate or at least match up with the opposition then how will Moses and brooks be able to do anything anyway ?

So it's possible it still does come down to our roster irrespective of the game plan. Maybe we don't have the cattle to play Taylor's way. And even then do we have cattle to be a top 8 side no matter who was coach. Probably not..

If it is a bad game plans by Taylor , let's hope he can see and fix this to suit our roster and let us play more naturally. Adaptability is so important as a coach. One thing we know, players will stay and it's the coach that will be marched so their is pressure for sure.

I guess it's better to lose trying to throw the ball around but I do think Taylor is really thinking of long term and not just a short term fix.

It's just so sad we can't buy any players because we probably aren't as far away as we think with just 1 gun centre and a impact second rower, which probably have us a top 8 side.. But always easier said than done.

We have to look forward now i get that but ….You know that's what makes me more frustrated Potter was going just fine till he had a terrible run of injuries and the board and Management didn't allow him to have some control .

Anyway we live in hope that something good will happen.

He was going fine without having any control, injuries can happen to any team.

Until he was hijacked by "x" amount of his players. Which meant that was the end of him.

Loved him as a person, a player and a coach.

However if the players are not going to play for you - that is the end.

That's ok - let's put crap all over our present coach, try not to understand that basically he has nothing to work with, try not to have any understanding of what he is trying to achieve and leg rope him tighter than Potter was (but in a different way) and get rid of him as well.

What master coaches have we got lined up - eh! what nobody!!!

Doesn't matter - no coach would be better than what we have had and we have another salary saved. Just let the boys run out and play what is in front of them. She'll be right!

Doesn't matter what we think - we will have to ride out this catastrophe and hope we come out at the other end ok. Maybe we will and maybe we won't.

Putting crap on people that are doing their best to help the club get out of this mess on and off the field is not helping anybody. Off field seems to be progressing in a positive way. On field, well "you can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear" because it is catch 22.

We need experienced players to help the youngsters, we have no money to buy new players of any standard, we are over the salary cap for 2016 - so no new players, young guys that need assistance but no one to help on the field. Not going to be solved overnight and without coin.

So it is going to be a few cold hard winters. Get a nice warm coat.

I think JT is doing a good job under the circumstances - he is taking responsibility for what he is doing, he is not blaming players, assistant coaches or referees.

He is stating a fact that it was previous people, some coaches, an incompetent board, hopeless S and C department etc. for putting the club in the diabolical position it was in before he and the new board came. Was he wrong? or was it his fault before he even arrived?

As you have said - everyone is entitled to an opinion - this is mine and I am entitled to it. - Keep up the good work JT (still have your poster on the wall) and I won't be taking it down until you get a fair shot at what you and the board are trying to achieve.

Im sure this was the round last year that we put a massive score on the Bulldogs at ANZ and played some great footy. We were a chance of 7th or 8th with a massive list of injuries last year. Then the following week the drama started and this club has not improved or recovered.

How can the previous board have the cap so stuffed, we are already over the cap for next year, but easts, souths, canterbury, brisbane, parra, melbourne, saints, manly and co have a far superior rosters and are still signing new players for next year.

How many more of these hate Taylor diatribes do we have to have? I for one am bloody sick of the lot of you.

Get it through your thick heads that the last lot at this club totally screwed everything, and I mean everything.

Get some patience and stop crapping all over our team.

I'm sick of the spin coming from people like you. Face the facts about how poor this guy has been and what an embarrassment he has been and continues to be to our club.

ashman what people have been complaining about is the way and style of play we have been playing and the poor game plans to certain games .
We are as boring as hell , the game vs Cowboys at Campbelltown was so pathetically boring and still kept playing the same way throughout the whole game and wasn't prepared to change the style of play , 2-0 till the 78th minute :unamused: .

When your Coach comes out and says they have improved how they play :bash before admitting that maybe some game plans his implied have been wrong , well you know his a desperate Man IMO.

He is trying to change the style of how certain players play there natural game instead of allowing there natural talent to shine….like your Moses , Brooks etc.

Great post !

Speaking for myself I'm complaining about the following aspects of JT's coaching:-

1\. Terrible losing game plans which have been a key factor in the club going backwards.
2\. His crazy spin and complete lack of honesty including showing no accountability and blaming previous players/coaches and administrations for his poor performance.

Those 2 things are really really bad.

Bring back Steve Folkes! Please WT management, just make it happen 😛ray: No one (decent) will want to leave and we'll actually learn how to defend!

I've never come across a coach that throws off as much as Taylor.

What annoys me is the guys on here who act all high and mighty about his long term plans for the club. We can't get any worse.

This would be brilliant but the reality is we wouldn't be paying another Coach out .
It is apparent that we have been using our Cap money to fund our Club and not on players .

Don't read it then Col, stick to FB
Probably a lot of people don't like your posts either. You whinge quite a lot too, it's just about different things
It's a forum , that allows people to comment, just like you are

The sad reality is we don't have a squad capable of doing any better than the bottom half of the table. TBH even if everyone plays 100% each week we are that far inferior from a talent standpoint its over before next season begins. This squad is weak and needs reinforcements.

The fact we are over the Cap for next year is either a lie or we something very crooked was happening with the prior management.

Why is everything so vague? Who is back ended? How much are we paying players that are with other teams? This management team is doing themselves a disservice they are not very transparent and info we get doesn't provide proper detail.

Why in gods name did we sign Jason Taylor for a rebuild. Its a dogs breakfast .

Easiest way known to earn $900K. It is ironic that the club management is very concerned that prior management had not only paid overs for many player but also that they were signed to excessively long contracts. Yet the same management has paid well overs for an underachieving coach and signed him to a three year contract. Who is fooling who? Many the only ones being fooled are the supporters.

How do you know how much anyone is earning? Speculation and bile once again. Grow up.

JT can go now, he offers BS about defence and structures which clearly isn't working.
And anyone who thinks he has improved our team needs their head read.

Just don't accuse me of issuing bile MagpieCol or I will accuse you of being a bigot.

I don't care how much Taylor is being paid but one thing is for sure and certain it is certainly much, much more than Potter ever was paid by the club. On top of that Potter only had a one year contract and then he was sacked. Ironically he produced much better results than Taylor even with the horrendous injury list he had to contend with.

If there is anybody who should grow up it's you. Maybe it is because you are too old to change your ways but you are just so narrow minded and you tend to verbally abuse anybody on this Forum you don't agree.
