Well personally I think JT's only objective this year is to have better "points against" numbers at the end of the year.
That way he can say that his strategy is working
2012 - 551 against
2013 - 687 against
2014 - 631 against
2015 - 341 against YTD

The problem with those figures CQ , is that in isolation , they don't mean much.
Yes, they give the actual points, but it doesn't really show the quality of our defence (same with attacking figures)
We have a lopsided competition with not playing everyone twice,
If we play all the top 8 teams twice in a season, it's a good chance that we will have a lot more points against us in that year than we would if we only play them once.
Also if we play the Top sides during the Origin, period we would think that we should have less points against us over that time.
Other things influence the number of points scored for and against such as, did a lot of games take place in bad weather( possibly less points scored either way, ) or at night
Did we (or our opposing team ) have a large list of injuries?
The last rounds of last year was an example of us taking the field with almost a whole backline made up with forwards playing out of position. ( more points against)
Same for our opposition, if they were injury ravaged, then it's likely that we will have less points against.
All these things and more, can influence the actual, points in individual games or seasons,
Even down to, did Farah play or not. With his defence rate, if he is not there, then we could expect that maybe more points would be scored against.( as there is no one else that can take over his workload)
Did we or the opposition have suspensions??
These are not excuses . Just reasons why , the points scored are only part of the picture.
Its possible that we ( or any team) could have won more games in a season, where we have the highest points against us , than we did in the season where we had our lowestpoints against us.
The uneven nature of this competition makes it almost impossible to compare a lot of statistics , as there is no even base to start from
