Te Maire Martin

2 points. Griffin is a goose, flunked with the broncos, flunking with a strong squad built by Ivan, wrong about ET and wrong about TMM. This kid is a much more solid and composed player than Moses, and under pressure he has already won games for the panthers. Given their relative asking prices we are order of magnitudes better off with this move. When Brooks was playing well and Moses wasn't I was filthy we let Martin go. Yes he is young and small, but he is replacing a midget that has the mentality of a 9 yr old.

2nd point, given the fact Chammas seems to be a concord approved journo (one of the few), I'd say this is close to true, if not true.

The Titans are an example of how two rookie halves can work. I'd prefer an experienced half with Brooks, but he could easily click with a young half too. Fwiw, Penrith flew to Brisbane tonight and TMM was not on the plane.

He's young 21 1 year younger than Moses and 10kgs heavier. I rate him good young player not sure he's the right fit for Brooks.

I caught up with TMM about 12 weeks ago and he is far from small for a 5/8

Cheers SG. He does look bigger than he used to.

He has surprisingly good defensive stats for a rookie half. In 2016 he averaged 22 tackles per game and 2.3 missed tackles. In 2017 he has averaged 25.6 tackles per game with 2.9 missed. High defensive workload and not a high rate of missed tackles (for a half).

How many games has brooks played now? 50-60? Starting to fall away with the inexperienced tag, and maybe the extra responsibility will be good for him. With McQueen coming to the club he will provide good defensive cover for whichever half he plays next to I'd say tmm will become something great with us under ivan

Yep, Chammas is a genuine journo, not a gossip columnist, which suggests there is some weight to this story. Added to that TMM did not travel to Brisbane with the team today.

Interesting he's not on the plane… It's difficult not to get my hopes up

Could be the bargain buy of the year! Sign him up! I read a quote from him recently that said, "They even give us breakfast at Penrith!". Let's throw in Maccas vouchers for free hash browns, that should do it.

Maybe we should have fed him more! Never would have left haha

It's not that far fetched when you consider the fact Penrith are more than likely going to have to offload players at the end of the season.

Gonna end up with 7 five eights for 2018 at this rate. Also the 700k price tag for matualino is waaaay off lol. Where do they pull these figures from?

Just like Taylor had a thing for hookers.

TMM would be a terrific addition. Here's why
1\. He would provide a partnership with Brooks that would last years to come.
2\. He would provide a much cheaper alternative to Reynolds and others
3\. He has a 90% tackle completion rate, which is very high for a half (most are in the 75%-82% range. Moses is 75% this year)
4\. Excellent running game and would allow Brooks to organise the attack.
5\. Familiar with the Tigers club and players so he should fit straight back in.

I'd be happy for us to keep raiding their stocks.

The issue here might be with Cartwright and his inability to defend in the 2nd row. They can't carry Martin, Cleary and Cartwright in the defensive line, particularly if they've got Peachey in the 2nd row as well (which they probably would at full strength). Attack is only 50% of the game, maybe Griffin shouldn't have gotten rid of ET after all…

He'd be on a pittance at Penrith. 450-500k would probably be an upgrade to what he's on now, and it would save us some coin having our halves on close to under 1 million between them.

Te Marie. Come home son. You know you will be a legend at home With Wests Tigers. Gonna check on some stAts etc on the Tigers Spine in 2005.

TMM may be the right temperament to complement Brooks, given the latter's not a naturally dominant half like Moses.

Some concern Matulino fell away last year but hopefully a change will boost his go forward.
