Te Marie Martin --> Penrith

A lot of player rumors flying about at the moment.

Nothing about Martin, Funaki, Pauli, Idris or Toupo has been confirmed.

Martin is the best 5/8 prospect in the game so i hope we dont lose him but at this stage its all talk.

You think so? Staying at WT as a half/5/8 is the real career killer. We have already been told the future and Moses and Brooks are never to be dropped.

They have also earmarked Nathan Cleary and Moylan as their future halves though so it wouldn't be too good there either

Come on Col why wait for a decent source when any number of online or social media dart throwers offer so much grist? We've had players leaving the club only to re-sign days later and probably a second 25 list of players who were supposedly interested in or talking to. Worst of all, someone puts together a Facebook post of a photoshopped article which anyone could easily see was a fake by going to the actual website and that rumour is still floating around. Who are we supposedly after now? Luke Burgess? The only consistent player I've seen is Pauli Pauli.

If Te Marie does move to the Panthers with there abundance of halfs there is obviously underlying reasons .Also with the move of Funaki there still seems a problem with management and probable the head coach if the right people want you in the place rarely do you move on…. this club is a basket case.
 
Te Maire Martin is better than Cleary. TBH he's probably the best five-eight in the NYC and has been for two years. He's arguably the best half full-stop. I wouldn't worry about him struggling to crack first grade anywhere he goes.

What's frustrating is that Penrith already have a stacked roster and we have nobody, so how is it that we've not managed to be able to make him a reasonable offer?

Are we paying Brooks and Moses 700k a year already or something? Tedesco on 600k? Farah on 1.4 mill a season? Lawrence on 900k? What the hell is the issue here. The Panthers can afford to have guys like Will Smith, Isaac John, Nathan Cleary and now apparently ZDC and Te Maire Martin for halves depth and two former NSW reps in the havles and we have Josh Drinkwater and two rookies?

Worst run sporting club in the freakin world.

You don't know its about the $$$ of the offer, it might be opportunities.

At Penrith, Martin would be behind two aging halves who have max a few years left. At Tigers he would be behind two 20 year olds.

It's like being behind Farah in 2004, imagine staring down the barrel of playing second-fiddle for the next 10 years. That is why we let De Gois, Politoni, Flanagan go.
 
Well if Penriff have signed him or are going to sign him (nothing official but let's hang the club anyway) it wasn't on the form he showed against them a couple of weeks ago.
Apart from a kick to the corner for the winger to score (and he had plenty to do) he was more than ordinary. Best five eight full stop you say Mac - presume you mean in the Tigers NYC.

From what I have seen of him - if he goes he goes. Too small, can't tackle a wet paper bag and it is a lot easier to play NYC than NRL.

Guess we shouldn't have 8 mil each for Moses and Brooks it has sent the club broke.

Mac where do you get those figures from?
 
Another mention in this mornings Telecrap. From Rothfield about WTs about to lose one of their most outstanding young players to Penrith, if it's Martin , he's only about a week behind in his news

It might also be Matt Lodge? Started his career there, isn't getting a good go here at Tigers, maybe a return to the foot of the mountains is on the cards and yes I understand he is under contract.

Kyle Lovett and Brenden Santi might also be a chance if this rumour is true.

That'll do me. Im pretty annoyed especially considering the panthers have halves there as well. I know he most probably had to leave but still I was hoping he would stay…Who's nate Taylor?

Dammn im annoyed

I still think he's at least a year away from first grade though
