This level shows why you really do want a video ref. I thought MCK was clearly pushed off the ball by the Mounties #6 but the ref just calls and runs on. Same with the touchie missing the Mosby foot and ball on the line in the NYC.
Apart from Heleta and JLJ I don't see any of those boys troubling first grade.
Jordan Grant seems to do ok, I could see him as a backup forward because he has a decent motor, makes yards and doesn't miss too many tackles. Not quite sure why he's never even had a taste of FG because IMO he's not that far off.
JLJ I think could be a really solid halfback in firsts, he has a mighty boot, defends well and seems to have a calm head. Not particularly fast or flashy, but we all know Brooks has gone missing massively in 2016.
Heleta definitely looks FG material. Strong, runs low to the ground, good hands, good fire in his belly - he even gave himself a serve for not stopping a rampaging Mounties backrower who had already broken the line and was crossing as Heleta came across with a cover legs tackle. Heleta has a mix of Nofo and Simona in him, but broader and a bit less explosive.
I agree re Siro - I'm sick to death of all the surname riding, as if the kid only got a run because he's a Siro. Professional footy doesn't work like that, you have to be of a certain ability to make it, and Siro was at that level originally. But he was flat today, really pedestrian. For a guy fighting to get back into FG, in a big game, especially an attacking forward, he was sorely missing. The opposite number Jarrad Kennedy was all over him in terms of attacking threat, persistence and involvement.
JAC - I'm not sold on this dude, he might well end up a dud at Melbourne. People are talking about Craig Bellamy as being a miracle worker, but at least Koroibete, for all his defensive issues, had pure power and pace. So if you can get his reading of the game right, Koro has the strength and power to hit hard and take good runs early in the count.
But JAC - apart from being whippet fast in space, really badly lacks power and ball handling. Sure he made a few clean line breaks in NRL, but he also got smashed a lot and I don't have much confidence in him with the high ball or kick in behind. I don't know if Melbourne can make him a stronger threat than a guy who is fast.
Joel Edwards looked ok, put on some good shots and that's what you want from a defensive player.
Frustrating game in the end..too many errors in our own half ..

That pretty much sums it up. Twice we've given up good leads to Mounties and we paid the ultimate price for it today. If we're looking at a backup 9 for FG, Marshall-King is our man IMO, plus he can play in the halves.

JLJ's chip kick on halfway after we hadn't seen our end of the park for 20 minutes was just braindead. Need to be a lot smarter than that.
The forwards should be filthy with the backs, they defended their guts out in the 2nd half and the backs did nothing to help them out when it came time for a few dirty hitups. Heleta was the only one to give them a hand.
Carved up by Sam Williams….that's gotta be pretty embarrassing. As someone mentioned beforehand, there is no heart in our club unfortunately.

Wests Tigers Intrust Super Premiership side have gone down 24-18 to Mounties in heartbreaking fasgion in their Semi Final clash at Leichhardt Oval on Sunday.
In constant rain and tough conditions, Wests Tigers led by 12 points at the break but were made to do a mountain of defensive work — allowing Mounties to fight their way back into the match and steal the win in the final minutes to book a Grand Final spot.
Playing as the away team at Leichhardt Oval, the match began in perfect fashion for Wests Tigers when a strong tackle from halfback Justin Hunt forced an error from the minor premiers, Mounties, in their opening set — paving the way for fullback Watson Heleta to cross in the corner off the ensuing scrum for his 12th try of the season.
Hunt was unable to land the sideline conversion, leaving the score at 4-0.
Off the back of some sturdy goal-line defence, Wests Tigers would again threaten the home side’s line, with a ruck penalty allowing Hunt the chance to make it 6-0.
An inch-perfect 40/20 kick from Jack Littlejohn would see Paul Stringer’s side go back on the attack, and soon extend their lead to two converted tries when hooker Jeremy Marshall-King proved too strong close to the line, making it 12-0 after 25 minutes.
A string of penalties would gift Mounties the ball on Wests Tigers line, and they would soon post their first points of the day when a smart cross-field kick from halfback Sam Williams found winger Eddie Aiono in space on the left edge after 28 minutes of play.
Williams’ sideline conversion would reduce Wests Tigers lead to 12-6.
However, after Mounties produced an error from the kickoff, Wests Tigers would go back on the attack and soon restore their 12-point advantage as Marshall-King again got the better of the home side’s markers close to the line to crash his way over the line.
Hunt’s successful conversion took Wests Tigers lead to 18-6 after 35 minutes, which is how it would remain at the half-time interval as the rain continued to pour down.
A nervy start to the second half from Wests Tigers would gift Mounties the chance to hit back with several attacking sets, which they would quickly do through Zac Santo.
Williams again converted from out wide to make it 18-12 after 45 minutes of play.
Made to do a mountain of defensive work in the second half off the back of errors and a composed kicking game from Mounties, the home side would eventually level the match through Jarrad Kennedy, who crashed his way over with 10 minutes remaining.
Williams’ successful conversion leveled the match at 18-18.
An error from Josh Addo-Carr would allow Mounties the chance to take the lead, and after setting up for the field goal, it would be hooker Adam Clysdale who fooled everyone by throwing the dummy and scoring the decisive try under the posts.
Williams’ fourth conversion of the day made it 24-18 with three minutes to play.
Wests Tigers would have one last chance to send the match to Golden Point after regathering the short kick off, but Michael Chee Kam was unable to ground the grubber from Littlejohn in the final minute — giving Mounties a stunning 24-18 victory.

I would hardly say he carved up, he just kicked judiciously and played a calm game as Mounties wore Tigers down. His goal kicking in the wet was very good also.

I thought the game was pretty good given the conditions. Plenty of heart in it.
Seems a lot of the posters are forgetting it's reserve grade.

Glad to hear Heleta had a good game, every time I've tuned in he's acquitted himself excellently and I don't think he gets nearly enough mention as a possible first grade winger with the JAC obsession going around. Strong, deceptively fast and safe under the high ball, He couldn't be any worse than Kev or Rankin.
Disappointed in Sirro though, the bloke either needs to buck up and try and make a fist of this NRL thing or drop all that weight back and reinvent himself as a half/centre, for now he'/ just money and effort wasted.
Interested in Marshall-King though, seems to have a knack for sipping through tackles and doesn't seem to shirk defence (perhaps from necessity with his role in the team), could be worth a game through origin off the bench.

We just made far too many crucial errors.
Mounties would have had 65% possession and 75% territory in the second half. Given the circumstances. Given the awful conditions, that's just suicide. Solid first half, awful second.
Littlejohn had a really poor second half. Kicking game constantly put us under pressure, and after it took us 20 mins to manage to get the ball up to half way on the last rather than kick deep he tries a chip kick which put us on the backfoot once and for all.
Disappointing way to end the season but it's impressive that they've managed to get this far given all the injuries etc. Way too many brain explosions by our first grade players. The team also lacked any leadership to try and steady the ship while we were sinking in the second half.
Defence was impressive given we held off an extremely strong Mounties side right on our goalline for a total of maybe 15-20 sets in the match. But they got us eventually, as they have all season.
Young Tali did well marking up on big Brenko Lee, MLK also continued his good recent form. The whole team was pretty poor in attack, a couple of tries from dummy half aside. Not sure where Heleta could play in NRL though. Maybe replace Kevvy in the centres or as a backup for Nofo.
