Team v Roosters trial

Sione was our most consistent player last year and one of our best

Only reason could be that he's come back overweight or unfit for preseason. Based off last years form, he'd be picked ahead of almost all our forwards.

I am surprised Bunty Afoa is not in the team.... for me that is a big one, maybe he is injured? I thought he was contesting for a bench spot

Looks in great shape in the recent training pictures.

What do you make of the inclusion of Sione, Ink?
As jc said he maybe a bit heavy....or maybe just getting over a niggle.

Maybe Benji wants at least one experienced head out there...although hes named Jock as (c)

Im not as eagle eyed as some....had he been doing contact sessions at training ?

about what was to be expected.

the Chooks have named a very strong squad, I wouldn't be surprised to see the scoreline blow out.
That was my first impression also.
The Roosters young fullback is a flying machine in demand from the Waratahs and the Roosters.
Their halves are very good, Toby Rodwell looks to be a massive talent.
Their young hooker proved what an immense talent he is playing NRL towards the back end of 2025.
As others have mentioned they have named plenty of proven high quality NRL players in their forward pack, we have named only one being Sione and we know Tristan Hope can hold his own.
If we score 3 or more tries and stay within 12 points of them at full time we will be doing very well.

Not a very exciting lineup of second stringers but that's what we were expecting,

Looking forward to seeing Moors, Godinet, Haywood, Saukuru, Tavana, Brooks, Andrews and Attard to see how strong this wave of talked up juniors are.

Herbert is interesting as well to see if he's a good pickup as cover for the outside backs.
