Team v Souths - 1 change

Hit the nail on the head Geo 4 day turnaround from NSW Cup just no option here. Especially when they are expected to come in to a team beaten by 54 points. I am actually looking forward to the Souths game remember the same guys nearly rolled Storm the week before & we have seen what they did the following week.
Don't get me wrong I don't expect a win but I do expect a different attitude to defence.
Maybe something like:
Mistakes = Less Possession = More Tackling = Less Energy thus more Mistakes = Flogging.
So just keep it tight early nothing fancy.
On Taylor : No Comment / He's been around long enough to know what another flogging means.

Grant out.
At a guess, we'll see Sue to prop, Sironen to lock and Lovett or Halatau to starting on the edge.
Griffin or Edwards onto the bench.

We're looking at a possibility of no props on the bench, 1 decent starting back rower and a collection of reserve graders and 'utilities' to try and make up the numbers in the forwards.

I hope we can score some early points cos we'll have nothing past the 30 minute mark. Ava and Sue are going to need to play some big minutes (like ideally 80) on a 5 day turnaround.

With Grant missing we are at a significant size disadvantage. Now if we defended like the Broncos and put shoulders into the tackles I wouldn't be as worried, but given we're defensively soft, I really think Souths will just bulldoze us into the ground. I can see them putting 50 points past us.

It will be the same side that got thumped by Canberra and the reason will be that these players need to be given the chance to redeem themselves.

We already had "the coach has the backing of the board"..I am looking forward to the WT filling the newspapers and airwaves from Thursday late…Sure, as someone said, nothing to be gained from putting down our team, but nothing to be gained by confirming them either.

16 teams is too much and not enough talent to go around.

We can never complete with out of Sydney teams as they offer better 3rd party deals, a lifestyle and opportunities outside of NRL.

At least we had 2005 and Marshall at his prime.

I think the problem is our rich guy won't chuck in as much as their rich guys do. It doesn't matter how many teams are about the place. It's a money thing. If we splashed the cash, the coaches and players would come. Alas….he won't and neither will they.

I'm not commenting on who will pay additional cash but it's pretty easy to get a player. You just outbid everyone else.

Naqama in? Or is Milone in?

Our club always leaves the fans in the lurch until around kick-off time. What's the use of going to all the trouble to attend the match at Olympic Park when our club carries on like that?

Disagree

If the 16 teams were more strategically positioned I think you could attract far more players and fans to the game

2 NZ teams

2 SE Qld teams

1 PNG team

1 Darwin side (I think kids would switch quite readily in the NT to league over AFL , especially seeing it would be their only sporting side at a national level

Melbourne

Cowboys

Canberra

Gold Coast

Newcastle

5 Sydney sides

Going to be another tough night at the office, we will get beaten by plenty, but with you two main props out all the effort in the world aint going to help.

Would have loved to see us at full strength against Souths especially with them down on form and with us seeking redemption after last weeks debacle, it would have been a real contest. No Woods and no Grant equals a crap night yet again

Grant out, MCK in. Source a current tiger. He also confirmed JT is hamstrung by 2nd tier cap due to mismanagement.

Agree. The Burgess brothers will probably be labelled immortals after tonight.

Interesting.
Weird that he'd get a run now when we could probably do with an extra middle forward. Gives us the following:

Ava
Farah
Sue
Sirro
Lawrence
Halatau

MCK
Aloiai
Lovett
Felise

My mind wonders

Griffo got picked for PNG, i personally would like to see him play in the FG team for us
