I don’t think it helps that all we got out of the meeting was a 20 second statement from the CEO. I know we don’t want the club to divulge too much at risk of looking like a basket case, but there are times more transparency is required. You can’t not give us an idea of what was said, then name him and not expect supporters will be bemused/pissed off. For all we know, AD went into that meeting, got down on his knees and begged Marshall for forgiveness. That outcome may explain his selection this week. But we’ll never know because the club chooses to keep supporters in the dark.

I don't know what I would do but let's look at the possible reasons Benji could have had for picking him:

1. He's the best available halfback
2. we need to make sure AD retains his value. If we shove him in reserve grade, Moses will be on the phone agitating for a release.
3. If we do want to move him on, we lose any sort of leverage if we make it look like we don't want him here. He's with us for 3 more years at probably half the value of most other halves.
4. If AD was to leave, there's no way we get anyone for less than a million for 2027 and we are left with an extremely inexperienced halves.

Obviously the other side of it are the intangibles like culture and lack of leadership.

It's a tough decision imo and not just a matter of punish the bugger because of what he did.

I'd still have Javon at 5/8 and Luai at center though.

There's no form reason to exclude Roberts and Javon while including KOE blokes like Murray who copped a flogging and were woeful last week.

One minute Douehis camp is saying he couldnt get hold of Benji re: the team selection

But Kent now saying Douehi rang Benji i assume on the Monday asking about wether to contest his judiciary charge...to which Benji apparently said "you do what you want."

Blamed benji for not calling Douehi after the hearing despite him not knowing when it wouldve concluded which was around 9.30ish from memory.
Lets not forget Benji was crook with flu last week which could be why he didnt go to the judiciary.....it was evident in the pre match interview his croaky voice....but Kent despite knowing everything fails to mention this

And in biz you make it work bcoz sometimes you have no choice. There was a sales rep in a certain area I/we had to deal with who was a complete Richard Hadlee. But you are not getting this product without him so you make it work somehow.
