Teddy shaping up

News.com.au,have an article about Teddys running and how he is changing his style…

What I have read it appears our new S&C are doing a fine job,Tedesco is also really working hard to make sure he stays injury free..

My only concern is that his left knee has had three ops in three years, which leaves me to the question for my fellow forumers...

During a vigorous NRL season and tough training campaign do you guys think Teddy will make it through?

I'm not being negative I want him to shine this year,I just think that knee could be dodgy if it isn't 100 percent when he starts playing..

I reckon he will carry last seasons pre injury early form, throughout this year, making him the best number one in the game.

He'll just need a few matches under his belt and he'll be fine IMO.

Standard cost/benefit analysis needs to be applied.

If there is a legitimate medical reason to hold him back from the 9s (ie. Doctors say 1 extra month of physio work needed, etc) then yeah.

Otherwise what's the point of holding him back?
Rugby league is 50% a mental game so getting him into the thick of things will help come round 1.

There's always risk. Ask Tim Moltzen.

He would be appreciating the significant changes since he first came into grade. It's like he was living in Claymore and now he is in Vaucluse.

Tedesco says in the article
"All the crap stuff, the sugars and fatty foods are gone "

What he should have said was that All the crap STAFF like Leeds Skando and Potter are gone.

He's only 21 as well. Has that on his side. If he was recovering from constant knee injuries at 28 I'd be more worried. He looks like he keeps himself in decent shape too, so his body is probably in quite good knick.

All the answers have good valid points….

I suppose I should have asked ....if he injures that knee again and I hope not, could that finish his NRL career,as I don't think it would hold up to another op ??

As I said earlier,I'm not being negative as I would love him to have a sensational career, but you have to look at all the options and as Willow said 50 percent is mental, is he strong enough mentally to get through what has happened to him since his debut ?

Teddy shaping up is a key to success in 2015 our attack and defence take on a whole new dimension when he is on the field….

looking forward to see what the new S & C dept. can do for him

Obviously they are going to want him playing some trial games I dare say ( if fit obviously).
We can't keep him in cotton wool till Round 1, he is part of our spine and plays a vital role in it.
I'm sure there well aware not to rush him back to early on the same token.

I wouldn't count on it. I think they'd be quite happy just till nurse him along to round 1.

There is nothing worse than seeing a young athlete that has imense talent but a body that keeps breaking down, hopefully with a more Proffessional staff around him finally this could be a break throw year for him on the injury front.
