Tedesco Replacement

I reckon these two examples would be awesome back line ups for next year!

1\. Nofo
2\. Mansour
3\. Lawrence
4\. Simona
5\. Richards
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks

OR

1\. Hoffman
2\. Nofo
3\. Lawrence
4\. Simona
5\. Richards
6\. Moses
7\. Brooks

I think Moses should be playing his best position and that is at 5/8\. Austin retains a bench spot for the impact/utility bench role. Hoffman would be a good buy, and Brisbane will prob let him go now seeing Milford is on his way.

Mansours hopeless.

Why anyone would want him I don't know.

Folau - great idea, let Teddy go for 630,000 and pay a million for him - that is being very astute.

Please don't be Rowe.
No matter who we get will be a step backwards from Tedesco. Hopefully Nofoaluma nd Simona can be trialled there over the next few weeks while Tedesco sits out in reserves.

I think this is the best option.

How do we get some of that NRL marquee player money?.Folau might not be that dear. lol at canberra if we made that happen.

The first thought for me was Kevin Locke. I know he has reputedly signed with a UK club, but for the right cash, I think he could be persuaded to stay in the nrl. And, the right cash would be nothing like the Ayoub …oops I mean Tedesco, amount.

…...as i posted in the other thread re Milford, what are the Bronco's going to do with all the specialist full-backs as Karmichael Hunt also(apparently) wants to stay in Qld.

silly season begins…
mansour is a winger he is not a fullback.
our centres and wingers should stay put (with the exception of simona who needs to switch sides).
locke would be good.

I'd be having a good look at Mamo ftom Newcastle. He's off contract and is going to be stuck behind Boyd waiting for the number 1 jersey to be vacated when he and Bennett decide to move on.

I think somebody mentioned this earlier but we are very unlikely to get a high marquee player to our club. Especially since the dogs are looking for a fullback. Imo we should work on getting either Simona or Nofoalumu at the back and possibly trialling Moses there at back of season if necessary.
What we really do need is a quality centre to be signed in the off season.

I was chatting to a mate yesterday who suggested Austin.

My first reaction was he wouldn't have the motor, but the more I thought about it there are some good positives

1 good runner / Good courage when running at the line
2\. Is a good talker
3\. Knows lots of positions and hence may be good at directing a defensive line
4\. Seems to be able to play anywhere
5\. Good ball player (much better than our centres or wingers)

This allow us to keep Moses at 5/8 where his combo with Brooks will be unleashed.

Not my idea but one worth sharing

if we cant afford teddy do you think folau would come for less no brainer :bash

Peeps keep going on about how Rowe cant do it,but Teddy was pretty ordinary in his first season.

TBH he only started to come good late last year and then this year.

I was also going to suggest this. With Moses and Austin both very competent 5/8's there will always be a conflict between who gets the first grade 5/8 spot. Due to his long combination with Brooks I much prefer Moses to play 5/8\. But why waste Austin's obvious full back potential as described in points 1 to 5 above. Wests Tigers must groom Austin at fullback by at least playing him in that position in a number of first grade matches this year even if it means that Tedesco plays either first grade wing or State Cup during these matches. It would need an imaginative coach with courage to follow this through but I am sure that it would work.

Of course the upshot of this is that we waste a talented 5/8 (Austin or Moses) by playing him in state Cup. As Chris Lawrence's time left playing centre appears very limited another great benefit is that we save the money we would have spent on buying a replacement fullback and use it on buying a first class centre.

Moses would be the better option at fullback. Has played there before, is quicker etc. Leave Austin at 6

I know I'll get hot down for this, but…

I believe **Mitch Brown** is off-contract at the end of the season. The dude has size, speed and is cool under pressure (at least he was when playing FB in the finals in 2010). There are a lot worse options out there..

Look if everything plays out the way many think it will over the next few months , the one player who I think will be on the outer will be David Mead from the Titans

Thoughts on Mead ??
