Ok Then…..Once again Why Why Why was he not resigned when his value was lower ?

You cannot force a player to re-sign
The player and his agent have a mind of their own as well
They know how good he is, they hold the cards, they decide to test the market.

Are you really that dense?

Grant Mayer the king of BS.

If Tedesco goes elsewhere as I have said numerous times there is only one person responsible and that's our little friend Grant Mayer.

Peter Tunks mentioned it on radio yesterday…. this could have all been done months ago and he couldn't understand why it wasn't.

Funny how a CEO has the time to reply to a fans email but has difficulty organising a meeting with a players manager.

With all due respect, Peter Tunks is a moron. When he doesnt know something he just makes it up. One of the worst sports commentators on air.

Do you know this as fact?….no so then its pure BS speculation on your behalf.....

It was mentioned last night by Lara Pitt that Mayer is meeting with Ayoub today. Sounds like he can do it all!

This is all absolutely ridiculous, nobody would of offered the money he is getting now at the end of last year. It's round goddamn three and he played some freakish games which has driven up his value..

If he signs with the roosters, make him ride the pine for a year. Don't let him touch a footy and slap a total media ban on him. If he isn't seen or heard of for 23 rounds nobody will remember him and it will be a wake up call for every other junior who tries to hold the club ransom after a about half a season in total of consistent 1st grade matches, the nrl, the tigers, and the squad are bigger than any player and they need to know this or we will just have another benji Mach 2

Ok Then…..Once again Why Why Why was he not resigned when his value was lower ?
Anyhow thanks for dropping by Grant or is that you Warren....You rolled the dice and lost now pay the price.... Hope the bench is big enough for both of you.

What are they rolling the dice on? they hope that tedesco is not as good as he is so they can hold out and offer him a lower price? are you being serious?!

Tedesco and his manager wouldn't have touched a new contract last year or in the offseason with a 10 foot pole. Stop throwing all the blame on to management Tedesco had a pretty good 2013 considering our form and after coming off an ACL and has shown that he has the goods in 2014\. Wests Tigers want him bad and they will do what every they can to sign him. Thats the story. How much tedesco can get in the market and how much we can afford is behind closed doors and we just need to be patient.

Correct.

Plus mayer is 100% correct. You cannot continue to play overs. We did this with Blair and it has killed us.

I'd add that the players must be getting paid. To state otherwise is simply ridiculous. There is a possibility that 3rd party contracts are not being paid or that there is some salary cap considerations that have delayed players being paid but not being paid is to me a complete load of palava.

I'll leave this with the club to figure out. I want Tedesco to stay and I think he is a great player however as per Benji last year if he wants more than we can pay then see ya later. Simona, Nofo, Koro or someone else will slot into fullback and do a great job.

''Good news for you Tigers fans!!!

James Tedesco's manager and the Wests Tigers have come to terms and the Tigers are expected to announce the re-signing of Tedesco sometime next week leading up to the Tigers round 5 clash against Manly at Leichhardt oval.''

People like to compare rugby league to business and the private sector. That's fair enough. In the private sector, a business can expect to retain an employee for less than what is offered by rival companies. It's pretty much the norm that if you can expect a pay increase to jump ship. Very few companies will match the offer of a rival company. I have no problem with us refusing to match offers of other clubs. We should be paying what we think Tedesco is worth to us. If there is more on offer elsewhere and he wants to take it, so be it.

Happy Tiger, you can harp on about what you've been told. It's fair to draw an inference your source is very close to Tedesco, if not Tedesco himself. If so, it's only one side of the story. Unless you tell us the hard figures of what he has been offered and what he thinks he is worth/what other clubs are offering we have no grounds on which to assess your claims. Are we supposed to take you on your word that the Tigers have put forward an insulting offer? How do we know it's not reasonable and Tedesco/yourself view it as a lowball offer?

Tedesco is playing the game. Testing the market, especially after such a good start to the year, he'd be mad not to use this as a bargaining chip. His support game has come on in leaps and bounds under Potter and the start of our year has shown that we could well be in for an exciting couple of years. Money is obviously a motivating factor, but if we can get close to rival offers he may stay because things are on the improve.

I'm confident we'll keep him, but I won't begrudge him if he goes.

Some people here need to take up a new hobby like watching 'Days of Our Lives' or scanning YouTube clips until 5am conspiracy theories of the world. You can not force a player to sign, if Tedesco wants more money then no one can stop him from taking it. Someone mentioned it earlier but there's no way he would of signed last year. The kid had a world cup to participate in and was coming off his first season of first grade. It would of been gross negligence from Teddys manager on behalf of his client had he signed. Mayer is not going to hold a gun to his head and say I won't pull if you sign with us.

From quotes coming from Tedesco (which let's face it are the only ones I know aren't made up) there's is a very good chance he will sign on. He wants to be a one club player and after just one season, switching to another team is not going to achieve that. The Roosters have said they haven't even talked to him.

Before everyone goes off half-cooked (just like Farah, Woods et al) read the facts, and stop being such babies. It's a professional sport which he is setting his life up from. It's not a game of schoolyard rugby where he's choosing to be on Timmys team instead of little Johnnies. My advice is to wait until the contract has been settled. You might just be suprised, and will save yourselves hours of stupidity of something you can't control. All Mayer can do is offer him the best contract th Tigers can put on the table. The rest is up to Tedesco.

BREATHE!

Well said Palms. The Roosters were sure things to sign him and now come out and say they haven't even considered him much less spoken to him.

There so much sensationalist bull$hit in the media its not funny. Which club exactly is offering him this huge wad of cash? Probably someone like Parra or Canberra. Not the most attractive teams out there but they could both use a fullback and are likely to have some cash, and neither are likely to win the comp any time soon.

Technically they may offer him more money (it won't be the Dogs or Roosters who are) but he's likely to be happy to stay with his mates, where he has good combinations which will only get better and in turn make him look like an even better player.

Raiders offered Milford almost a million a year to stay. And people complain about Teddy on 500k?

I reckon Sam Ayoub has Buzz Rothfield's number saved in his favourites, and asked him to print that story on Ted to cause a stir, like it's done. Ultimately this has put more pressure on Mayer, raising his price.

Still hoping this all isn't a bluff to steal Nofa. HE'S OURS TOO

I think the latter Simon!

C'mon everyone, if we can keep this mayhem up for just a few more weeks we might overtake the Lote Tuqiri thread as the longest and most polarised series of discussions yet seen on the forum.

Next will be contract talks breakdown..every day there is a new twist..we can get 50 pages easy…What's the record ?
