Bulldogs will let a few players go, having said this….

Barring a major "Break the Bank" play. it is my educated opinion that Teddy will be a Tiger for life.

I hope they get Hiku, Hoffman or Locke. Teddy is OURS.

I said this in another thread but if reports from Belmore are true on what they're paying their players, they will have no cap room to offer Tedesco anything worth considering.

The 2015 cap is $6.55 million, so if it's true that Fifita is on $850k, Graham on $700k, Williams on $600k, Pritchard on $500k, that's 40% of the cap gone in four players - and that's not even considering other rep players like Morris, Reynolds, Kasiano and the rumors of offering Lichaa $300k a year. I understand that contracts can be front/back ended so these figures may not reflect what will be lodged under the 2015 cap, but there's some seriously creative accounting going on…

Surely the Tigers can clearly see we've got a LOCAL superstar on our hands... We've finally got a strong and stable 1 and 7 for the first time since Hodgo/Prince.

Nobody really knows what they're being paid, and there are other factors to consider. I think it would benefit the NRL for more transparency of player contracts but there are probably privacy issues to consider.

They lost Barba and didn't really replace him, so they might have a bit of space in this year's cap to front load some of Fifita's dollars.

Also they seem to be looking to offload a few players for sure.

But I agree with your sentiments. There must be something seriously wrong with the system for the dogs to be able to spend up big and still nab our local star, no matter if they are a richer club, have good 3rd party deals, or are masters at managing their cap.

Agreed that the numbers are purely speculative - I used figures which were reported in news articles when their signings were announced.

Few signs pointing to the exit of Michael Ennis. Pritchard has been promoted to co-captain (succession plan) and their hard chase for Lichaa. Could also see Reynolds leave if they promote Mbye to FG.

Throw in Eastwood,Ennis and Inu on good money, and Klemmer is on $300k according to the papers,as the dogs payed huge money to keep him before he even played first grade.
They would have to offload a heap of players to afford Teddy,or else they will have to be doing things illegally, the numbers don't crunch, and even the telegraph journo's can see this.

Could Teddy be a future captain of the club ??

He seems to handle the press well and has leadership skills

Sets the bar as far as commitment goes as well

Definitely. He showed a lot of maturity and spoke very well in his interview at the recovery session last week

He's already establishing himself as one of the best fullbacks in the game. In fact I don't think i would swap him for anyone, especially given how well he and Brooks compliment each other.

is there anyone on here that is a twitter buddy of Mayer and can ask him what's the latest with re-signing Teddy…I wish the club would at least give us an indication where they are at.

Tweeted to someone yesterday that Teddy is our #1 priority. Mayer has done pretty well so far in the retention department, let's hope he continues that trend.

Im not surprised all these rumours float after Teddy has had 2 blinders.

After all, muppet journalists DO have to try and sell newspapers or facebook pages run by attention seeking clowns with IQs 9 under par do want people to "like" their pages.

Dogs would not have the funds to throw BIG dollars at Tedesco.
Offloading players isn't easy (while I dont want him gone look what happened when we tried to shop Blair around, and I reckon he has gone better than T-rex)

Who would be the clubs with money to throw at him?

Dogs have no cash. They'd have to offload players first and then look at signing more players from other clubs. Hiku would be cheaper and more likely.

Souths, Dragons, Manly all have established fullbacks, Roosters have RTS to replace Mini, possibly even throw the Eels in there with Hayne.

Don't see him leaving us for any of the other Sydney clubs or moving outside Sydney.

Brisbane will go after him. With Barba, Hoffman, Milford, and talk of Karmichael Hunt returning, they're definitely short on fullbacks.

The only teams that need a fullback would be the Dogs, Titans and Raiders.

He is a quality player with the potential to be anything.
I imagine alot of clubs will be interested to varying degrees.

I know that we will do our best to sign him long term….and IMO unless someone offers massive overs that we cant match (which is possible) he will most likely stay
