Canberra Raiders fullback Anthony Milford has informed the club he will be honouring the deal he made with the Brisbane Broncos and will depart at the end of the 2014 season.

Milford said the decision to leave the club where he developed his game and made his NRL debut was the toughest of his career so far and thanked everyone involved in the Raiders organisation for the opportunities they have given him and the patience they have shown.

“This was a very tough decision for me and my family and I want to thank everyone at the Raiders for everything they have done for me,” Milford said.

“I've been with the club since I was awarded a scholarship at the age of 13\. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the Raiders and I will never forget the support they've given me.

“I'm 100 per cent committed to the Raiders for the rest of the season and I look forward to helping the team play well for the rest of the year.”

Milford will honour the final year of his current deal with the Raiders and remain with the club until the end of the 2014 season.

I reckon Teddy and the WT have agreed to terms…the only thing they are waiting to get right is the timing of the announcement....be patient folks.

It would make sense, especially if thats the game he returns for.

Cheap tickets + local junior returning from injury and re-signing long term = big turnout

Agreed to terms means nothing. Sign a contract or its all just talk.

One can quite easily agree terms with a club in any sport, only to get a last minute offer for more cash and sign straight with the gazumper! Obviously its usually a good sign when a club and player agree terms, but legally it means stuff all!

I hope Teddy's signed and sealed, and just waiting on the delivery…!

Surely Tigers won't announce the signing if Tedesco isn't playing. If it's done, they would at least wait until he makes his return to the field.

if he stays itll be as a loyalty signing….. nothing more... we have ZERO Money to pay big dollars for him.... so anyone who thinks we are paying top dollar for him is wrong.

Is that due to cap constraints??? Inability to source a substantial TPA or basically we have a real money problem ????
Without any inside knowledge, I would have thought we would have had some space in our cap, but I guess we have had to pay "overs"to attract and resign players in recent years so maybe our cap is over flowing .

Iam certainly not as confident as I was about this signing coming to fruition.

Cap is definitely the major issue , not sure about lack of TPA's though

Think of all the major upgrades would of had in the last 18 months with all the young superstars who have or are coming off contract

its to do with everything

we have no money for anything.. we cant even buy a happy meal…. we pretty much stick to UNDER the cap plus we are paying big $$$ for some players who prob shouldnt have been..upgraded alot of contracts, secured the two main players in 7 and 6... and still need to secure Teddy.. but if he stays it wont be for $$$

Wow, well if that's true then that makes the quality of the squad assembled, and the quality of a lot of our on field work, even more impressive.

I hope we keep him, but can't blame him for chasing the dough if he chooses to leave.

explain to me like I'm a 2 year old -
Harry was all talking about Billy Slater when he came on board -
& now that we have Teddy, Harry won't budge.
I'm scratching the top of my head.

If that's true why aren't we just moving all home games to ANZ and making some money. I'm sure all fans would understand the club reneging on Leichhardt and Campbelltown. Obviously a move couldn't,t happen to next year but if it helps balance the books and secure talent I'd be all for it.

I was told months ago by a guy who was involved in the football operations side of the club that money was a real issue and the place was running on the smell of a oil rag. Did not take much notice of it at the time, but make sense after what T REX posted, he usually is close to the money with his info
