I'm not going off any info, but i have a sneaky feeling Parra might make a play for him. Move Hayne to 5/8 and bobs your uncle.

Doubt it GNR, if they were going to move Hayne to 5/8 they would play Hopoate at fullback.

I am also not going off any info but I think Storm will offer some big dollars, they are starting to build towards the future with Hampton and I wouldn't be surprised if they sign Tedesco to succeed Slater…

I'm not one to listen to silly rumours but there's been a lot of talk going around about Teddy joining the Dogs from 2015… Does anybody know his exact contract situation with us? I really hope he is our main focus as far as re-signings go.

The Dogs new CEO has publicly declared that they are setting their sights on a new fullback after securing Fifita so it wouldn't surprise me if they chase Teddy pretty hard... Salary cap would be their obvious problem but they are pushing to offload Kasiano and T-Rex by all reports so who knows...

Pleaaaaaaaaaaase Tigez don't let this happen!

Apparently Tedesco isn't the player his in-law was talking about.

So that rules them out then

Pity their is only 14 other clubs to worry about

If I was in Teddy's shoes a few clubs come to mind

Cowboys ,Dogs, Eels ,Roosters ,Titans just to name the obvious

Cowboys love Morgan at fullback with his "fearless" kick returns.
Dogs don't have any money left to spend after signing Lichaa on over 300k a season.
Eels have Hayne, Hopoate and Norman.
Roosters have Hastings, Mini and RTS, the SBW money will be needed to keep their team together.
Titans are a chance.

To be honest, I hate to say it but I can't imagine Teddy staying with us.

The club, lets face it, is an absolute train wreck at the moment…

This Balmain drama couldn't have come at a worse time as far as his contract goes and yes I know the Wests Tigers will be fine, it's strictly a Balmain thing & blah blah, but in a players eyes it would still be a red flag.

Even if we do offer him enough coin to match the Roosters & Bulldogs he will probably be wondering if we could even afford to pay it...

Dogs just announced Michael Lichaa as another signing for 2015, so they'd surely be out of the running now.

Only worry is the Roosters i think.

There was a piece on the news earlier tonight talking up RTS as being the next best fullback in the world…Can't see him leaving the chooks.

I'm sure they'd be willing to accommodate both if they could.

it amuses me that people think Mayer and the club wont be trying their best to sign him.

Others will also be trying to get him, no doubt, and they may well succeed, but regardless the club will try there best, Im sure of that.

Well if Mayer wants to keep Tedesco , they'd better offer him what he is worth

Not what they'd like to pick him up for

Because if they don't increase their initial offer , Teddy will leave and he'd be mad not to leave

agree with you happy , how hard is it , he wants to stay , pay him what he is worth , it's not rocket science
If they gave him a decent offer to start with ,this would be all over now and he would be locked up
If he goes it will be tigers fault for handling it so bad

Glad to see a few are finally catching on to what has actually happened

So, I finally saw the Tedesco interview on fox sports…if anything I would say he wants to stay at the Tigers...He looked a little coy to me probably acting on instructions from Ayoub,,, just trying to get the right contract price!!

That's exactly how I saw it, Simmo. He said it with a very wry grin

The big questions are what is he worth and how much are Wests Tigers offering him?

I don't know the going rate, but I figure he's worth at least whatever they're paying Blair. Furthermore, if they could afford Blair, why couldn't they afford Teddy? Balmain was a lame duck back then, too. Besides, if the NRL is guaranteeing player payments, what's the issue?

And as for the Perth thing, Cronulla is still the team that is uneconomic and with zero prospect of growth. Besides, they've been bailed out 1/2 dozen times and showed their gratitude by taking the first opportunity for SL.

Well if I was the club CEO you'd be looking at a minimum of 450 k of cap money and you'd be offering at least a 4 year contract

At the end of that contract he would have got his 200 k exemption for 8 years service

The club should be treating Tedesco as a not negotiable . Signed no matter what

But the strange thing is they haven't Too busy trying to cut corners and save themselves some dollars

Which is their prerogative of course , but don't turn around and tell us they are "doing everything possible to retain his services"

Could the wry grin have something to do with the fact that the initial contract has been rejected by Teddy's advisors

I see one problem and that is that we upgraded Brooks and Moses and I believe that NRL matches were incentivised into the contract, as was increases in salary per year. So that means that despite them being signed, their salaries are likely to increase markedly. They also would have both signed to pretty decent contracts for rookies. So suggesting that Blair going pays for Tedesco is wrong because Blair going probably pays for Brooks, Moses and Woods salary increases.

To compete with the offers that'll be coming in for both Tedesco and Nofoaluma, we're going to have to lose Blair, Anasta, Murdoch-Masila, Koroibete and probably won't be able to re-sign some others either because we'll need to promote others to fill their top spots on top of offering more of our cap to Tedesco and Nofoaluma.

Gavet, Paterson, Seumanufagai, Thompson and Sironen are off contract as well. Is re-signing Tedesco and Nofoaluma worth losing possibly 5 or 6 players and replacing them all with rookies to accommodate? I dunno, maybe?

Moses will only get his salary bonus if he plays NRL

There is no way he will be on 150 k playing NYC because the cap is limited to $ 250 k for the Top 20 players

I don't know what he is worth but when you here figures of $300k a year for a sharks #9 before he has played a single NRL game well the good player prices will increase vastly over the next few years.

I would think he would be worth at least $450-500k a year currently with his value increasing with every good game he has.

What did we play Luke Brooks to extend his contract? If he develops the way he could it will look like a bargain.

The same for Tedesco nut out an acceptable deal with incentives and get it done. He is the best young fullback in the NRL and it is a very important position.

Guess who the Manager of the sharks #9 is ?(i don't even know the players name) Its the same Manger Tedesco has…Sam Ayoub.
It may not be at the Wests Tigers or Bulldogs or Roosters but you can guarantee one thing Ayoub will get Tedesco what his worth.

Yes they should but they are not. The are banking on him staying without paying what he is worth…wests junior loyalty blah blah blah.

How does a player agent determine what his player is worth? He talks to other clubs and sees what they're willing to offer. Something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

It's naive to think that agents don't shop around every single player they have, except for the very top echelon of players who a club knows is worth a $hitload and just offer it in the first place.

Teddy may well get about 400-450\. Nofo about 2/3 of that. Getting rid of BMM would probably allow one of these guys to be retained instantly. If Anasta and Blair aren't here next season that will easily cover both these kids plus one or two others.

There are a lot of assumptions here.

Our track record of retaining is quite strong.

I personally think it was a much higher risk losing Woods, Farah to other clubs, but no point saying other clubs are interested because these players would've had a strong base price.

It depends how you look at it with Teddy, he's had 2 amazing games so far this year, might as well try and strike while the iron is hot.

There is a legitimate concern of paying premium for someone who could break down. He has bulked up considerably and your knee can only take so much.
