How does a player agent determine what his player is worth? He talks to other clubs and sees what they're willing to offer. Something is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it.

It's naive to think that agents don't shop around every single player they have, except for the very top echelon of players who a club knows is worth a $hitload and just offer it in the first place.

Teddy may well get about 400-450\. Nofo about 2/3 of that. Getting rid of BMM would probably allow one of these guys to be retained instantly. If Anasta and Blair aren't here next season that will easily cover both these kids plus one or two others.

Aren't we still lumbered with Blair in 2015, too? 😢

I'm not one to listen to silly rumours but there's been a lot of talk going around about Teddy joining the Dogs from 2015… Does anybody know his exact contract situation with us? I really hope he is our main focus as far as re-signings go.

The Dogs new CEO has publicly declared that they are setting their sights on a new fullback after securing Fifita so it wouldn't surprise me if they chase Teddy pretty hard... Salary cap would be their obvious problem but they are pushing to offload Kasiano and T-Rex by all reports so who knows...

Pleaaaaaaaaaaase Tigez don't let this happen!

Interesting discussion regarding it on the Dogs forum:

So funny I got on the Kennel and these morons think we would be over the cap to resign Tedesco , who are these guys kidding  .

The Dogs have just resigned Josh Morris for 4 more years. They must be shedding a lot of players before next season. How they'll be under the cap I'll never know.

Fraze it really amazes me , I believe the NRL should put a price value for salary Cap purpose to every player in the NRL so we all know the comp is fair and square , if the clubs want to pay them more it's up to them but they won't be able to sign them if there NRL value is to great .
That is just a thought cause I truly don't believe the Dogs are not under the cap just my opinion.

There are a lot of assumptions here.

Our track record of retaining is quite strong.

I personally think it was a much higher risk losing Woods, Farah to other clubs, but no point saying other clubs are interested because these players would've had a strong base price.

It depends how you look at it with Teddy, he's had 2 amazing games so far this year, might as well try and strike while the iron is hot.

There is a legitimate concern of paying premium for someone who could break down. He has bulked up considerably and your knee can only take so much.

Ask Kyle Stanley and Jordan Kahu

The two players you mentioned Farah and Woods both have had knee problems. There was more of a chance of Woods breaking down as his knee is a lot worse than Tedesco's and we resigned Woods.
Farah also did his ACL when he was 19 just like Tedesco did and his our highest payed player.
Tedesco has had a lot more than two amazing games, he was rookie of the year last year.

The longer the Wests Tigers take to resign Tedesco the higher his value will be.

Blake Ferguson apparently talking to the Roosters. Talk last year SKD may be moved on. I thought the Chooks would look to put Teddy in the centres given his RLWC performance there - hopefully they put the dropkick Fergo in there instead.

im feeling good about teddy resigning.

all this is BS to up his contract, same stuff was going around pre-Farah resigning. And guess what, same manager!

he will NOT leave us after we stood by him through injury and recovery while bringing him up through the juniors, i'm sure of it

I don't think his going anywere we have heaps of cash to keep our young guns. Plus if ur seeing a team signing a prop on 850k and keeping there players then we should have heaps of cap space to keep ours I cant wait until we re sign him hopefully will be a tiger for life. We just have to realx everything will be done in due course and will confirm the re signing.

He is on Sterlo tonight at 7:30\. There was a snippet of the interview on fox sports news and he said he hasn't had any negotiations with other clubs yet.
Cant see him going anywhere personally. Once we re-sign Teddy, its then Noffa, Siro and hopefully we can still hold onto Koroibete as-well, cause we don't know how long Richards is gonna stick around for.

Tedesco owes Tigers say 2 years on a "reasonable" salary.
If he stays healthy & keeps improving he can write his own cheque next contract.

Whatever you say Moltz,
When are you due back

It's kind of like shares or property, when exactly is the right time to buy or sell?

Tedesco is on the up we think, but in an instant he could do his ACL again and be bargain basement.

I leave it to the professional player contract managers at the club to make the decisions.

Tedesco doesn't owe Wests Tigers anything they owe him (and Brooks) for showing the fans that life after Benji is going to be pretty good.
Keeping Moltzen or Tedesco will be a difficult decision. Not

The Dogs roster is far superior to ours and they obviously understand how to manage the cap a lot better than what Wests Tigers do.
Des has four spreadsheets going on his computer which represent the next four years payments to players.
I believe Wests Tigers are still using a blackboard and chalk.

On one hand they need to go all out, but at the same time they need to tread carefully. As someone mentioned earlier, look at guys like Kahu and Kyle Stanley, throw in Moltzen as well. Once you do your ACL once, you're susceptible to it happening again. He's already had a couple moments in the first two games, and had a couple last yr where he's looked like he'd re-done it.

Big news out soon. Have retired from the NRL & switched codes…to Touch

Key points from Teddy's interview on Sterlo:

Loves his combination with brooks and Looks to build on it.
He has not spoke to other clubs yet.
Focusing on his football, it isn't distracting him much,
Gets annoyed when people ask him where he will be next year.

I' am very confident that he will sign with us.
I don't think we will officially sign him until half way through the season.
He still has a few things that he needs to improve on.

But eh, his speed and his passing game is top notch.

I' am looking forward to seeing him in tigers colours for the next 10 years :sign:

GO YOU MIGHTY TIGERS!
