Tedesco to re-sign, Potter next

Now back to the original topic, Potter has to be signed ASAP and it is plain dumb of the club to be holding back. A team like the Dragons must be at least looking at him. Mayer said they are in negotiations at present, but his dollar value could sky rocket if the team gets on a roll.

You know I even forgive him for picking a certain no6 every week, I just think he is a coach that has the ability to keep a lot of young kids ego under a lid, yet encourage them and build up their confidence

I have a strong feeling Potter will stay as the thought of winning a premiership with this squad will be a fantastic story for him. Came in with a no nonsense approach when we were a shambles after the Sheens era, gets rid of our highest profile player, bloods all these juniors, and takes the team to a GF. If he brings us a premiership in the next 2-3 seasons he will have Bellamy and Bennett-like status in being known for his ability to turn a team around.

He deserves a huge pay increase.

I'm wonder why Tedesco felt he HAD to leave…
I also don't think all these articles about how its been a hard and emotional time for Teddy and how he spoke to this guy, that guy and another guy and saying it all happened is doing anybody any favours. Just get on with business.

From all reports he went back and accepted the Tigers original offer. He didn't feel he "had to leave"… He took the money and ran. Simple as that, isn't it?

Could it have really been handled any better?
Working within our cap we have a number of players left to re-sign who can demand the same or even more money. Mayer has previously spoken about not falling in the trap of paying overs as previous management had done and has also called for TPA sponsors to come forward as well as concessions for clubs who are trying to retain their juniors.
I'm of the belief that with all this in mind, we gave Teddy our best deal. Canberra on the other hand, were in a position to pay more than market value for Teddy. This likely gave Teddy the view that our offer was insulting and/or we didn't want him at the club.
I'd be interested to hear how much he was offered by some of the more stronger clubs.

Teddy would only be looking at the picture his manager had painted for him. Signing with the Raiders would mean an extra 50k - 60k for Ayoub.
His a tip Teddy next time contract is up go for coffee with Grant Mick and Robbie and give Ayoub the flick.

Tedesco is a kid. He just wants to play football, and make a living doing it. He's taking advice from, and being pressured by, some major players as far as experienced manipulators are concerned. I'm not usually much of a conspiracy theorist, but if they're worth their salt, those angling for the Canberra option would have timed things well to try to get Teddy's signature while Woods and Farah (some of his close confidantes) were away. I believe it was deliberate timing.
I don't think he'll do it twice. I think for theses reasons they need an official cooling off period to buffer the young kids in such big business dealings. Trust is trust. Trust that not everyone you trust has your best interests at heart.

Tedesco must have been told, Proctor, Mansour and a whole heaps of stars are joining Canberra and together with the money thrown at him, it is difficult to ignore. As it is no one turned up, what the Raiders expected were all not true. You expect Tedesco to carry the whole team!! Tedesco is good, that is along with Brooksie, Siro, Nofo and a whole team that he used to play with. They are begining to know each other game and started to blend in well which took some time.Tes will still make his money, when he is more established. He need not worry about that, for when he really becomes established, the money will come looking for him, in the guise of sponsorship or some other way.The most important thing is for him to settle and play some football. He has been out for some time already, so it is good for him to get back in. The sooner the West Tigers started to do well and climb the ladder, the more he will be recognised and not before his time. Tedesco's time will come.Pottrer next, here come the West Tigers, watch out.
