I think it’s about Robbo valuing dynamic , robust game busters in his middle third , than a knock on may . If you look at who he’s playing there right now , he’s got guys who don’t have large minutes in them but hit hard , and are explosive in thier runs .I can't believe how well Terrell is going how stupid are the roosters for not wanting him I bet they are regretting that decision now.
It worries me how many minutes he's playing in a game though, burn out could be an issue the longer the season progresses and worse he could lighten off, we need his size in a pack that needs to be bigger than it is at the moment.
I think Robbo screwed up in not seeing that the game has become really suited to less explosive forwards like May , who will go all day , and beat you with consistency , as they can handle and eventually tire out , you’re explosive guys .
Ciraldo looks like he might have really shifted the prototype middle . Sure there’s your AFB and Payne Hass type who gives you the best of both worlds , but they’re 2 outliers in a generation . Theresa them 2 , and no one like them . And I’d argue Haas is another level above AFB as well . Even Tapine can’t really do those long stints , although I’m sure he could at a pinch .
I just think Robbo thinks differently . Plus I’m sure he wanted to oust the May/ Smith and whoever hangs out with them clique form his club . For better or worse .
I think he misinterpreted Mays apathy to Traditional footballer , bro , culture , as apathy to football . Which could have been confirmation bias as well , as May did at one point openly admit he wasn’t that much interested in footy .
That’s obviously changed big time lately though .
