OFFICIAL Terrell May #296

I can't believe how well Terrell is going how stupid are the roosters for not wanting him I bet they are regretting that decision now.
It worries me how many minutes he's playing in a game though, burn out could be an issue the longer the season progresses and worse he could lighten off, we need his size in a pack that needs to be bigger than it is at the moment.
I think it’s about Robbo valuing dynamic , robust game busters in his middle third , than a knock on may . If you look at who he’s playing there right now , he’s got guys who don’t have large minutes in them but hit hard , and are explosive in thier runs .
I think Robbo screwed up in not seeing that the game has become really suited to less explosive forwards like May , who will go all day , and beat you with consistency , as they can handle and eventually tire out , you’re explosive guys .
Ciraldo looks like he might have really shifted the prototype middle . Sure there’s your AFB and Payne Hass type who gives you the best of both worlds , but they’re 2 outliers in a generation . Theresa them 2 , and no one like them . And I’d argue Haas is another level above AFB as well . Even Tapine can’t really do those long stints , although I’m sure he could at a pinch .
I just think Robbo thinks differently . Plus I’m sure he wanted to oust the May/ Smith and whoever hangs out with them clique form his club . For better or worse .
I think he misinterpreted Mays apathy to Traditional footballer , bro , culture , as apathy to football . Which could have been confirmation bias as well , as May did at one point openly admit he wasn’t that much interested in footy .
That’s obviously changed big time lately though .

He is basically two players for the price of one.

He is an attacking prop with his balance, solid leg drive, strength standing in a tackle and ability to create an offload.

BUT

He’s also a defensive workhorse! He’s got a big smothering style that wraps up the ball, and he doesn’t have the tired brain fades where he gets beaten in the middle.

That Terminator image is awesome!!

We should send Robinson a thank you card, as for mine he gave Terrell the extra determination to prove that he was not only a starter, but the leader of his pack. Happy that he is bringing all that motivation to WT and it is rubbing off on his team-mates.

How long since we've had an elite prop? Maybe never

Best signing we've ever made based off his footy so far. Absolutely love this bloke, cannot believe roosters let him go.
You know, I've always said Gareth Ellis, but your comment - that through my amazing mind powers suddenly morphed into bold type - is pretty damn hard to argue.

Great post.

Not sure many people know this (... or even find it interesting, TS...), but Terrell Davis was one of the top running backs in the mid - late 90's with the Denver Broncos.
Won 2 Super Bowls with them and John Elway at QB.

Interesting? Perhaps.
Worth the effort? Probably not... 😂

Yeah I remember that guy, he was good. He was playing about the time when I took an interest in the NFL. Don’t really follow it much now.

I’m a big NFL fan ..so was aware of this …

Assume his dad must have been a big fan too to name him after this guy

Yeh me too. Take a passing interest (no pun intended) to see how the Vikings are going, but can rarely watch much of it these days.

Seriously feels like it's worse than it was, with every single NFL player these days having an ego the size of Jupiter... Theatrics after every single play. 😩
