I dont think anyone wants to see our good players leave... but you cant blame folks for feeling like its inevitable. It feels like a few posters are waiting for someone to leave to get their 'told you so' moment.

How easy would it be for someone like gould to meet with a player tossing up between the tigers and doggies.Shaun is wearing too many hats. The club has left him in a terrible position. He came over to support Richardson's vision in building the profile of the club not to carry the whole load, deal with a non existent board while contracts for our best players are left dangling.
How anyone still insists in giving this mob the benefit of the doubt is mind boggling - and must make other clubs sit back and laugh while they enquire about our players with their managers and compare their clubs records next to ours.
Agree. Great ethics should be rewardedI love this guy.
He puts in the work and sacrifice for this club.
Tiger for Life, Yes please.
1. GOD we need to get this guy a proper haircut.
2. It's not exactly HBG, it's Richo leaving. This makes sense, Richo has some connection with the players.
Marshall has more connection with the players.
Richo would create a relationship with players, but it's a relationship that we can work around. Shawn is calling people, doing the rounds... I suspect that side will be ok and I also suspect his management want to keep us warm.
Terrell will resign with us. Hopefully we get all the May's here.
Yes, we lost 2 young players last year. Under Richo and the old board no less.I dont think anyone wants to see our good players leave... but you cant blame folks for feeling like its inevitable.
Selective thinking right here at its finest.Yes, we lost 2 young players last year. Under Richo and the old board no less.
And a lot of assumptions on your part aswell. There's lots of reasons players leave clubs, if anyone leaves and we put it all down to HBG then we're just pushing a narrative to suit an agenda. Of course, if they re sign, it will have nothing to do with HBG....Selective thinking right here at its finest.
First player was predicted to cause trouble even before he made his debut. Well known for chasing easier teams to play with.
Second player wanted to stay but wanted and NRL spot he wasnt ready for or worthy of the price tag.
May on the other hand wants to stay, yet we are sitting on our hands, coincidence? I think not

Possibly the CEO has put back negotiations after May told him he wanted to concentrate on the off season and put other stuff in the background.
Or the club assuming he wanted things put off until the season started.Whos blaming HBG for players leaving ATM? Only talks stalling with May is the point of discussion, and that can only be put down to the drama caused by HBG
Where did Terrell indicate hes looking for a significant payrise?Shaun Mielekamp himself has stated recruitment and retention sits with Benji and Shannon Gallant.
Obviously as CEO he can get involved if required and I would assume all recruitment and retention decisions are discussed with Shaun before being signed off, but it’s all up to Benji and Shannon at the moment.
Previous comments from Terrell have sounded very much like he’s looking for a significant pay rise on his current 675k contract value, so you would assume he is expecting around 800-900k to extend.
I don’t think we are in a position to lowball him, so I’d say we simply have to pay him somewhere from 800-900k per season to ensure he commits to us long term.
Terrells comments contradict this theory.Possibly the CEO has put back negotiations after May told him he wanted to concentrate on the off season and put other stuff in the background.
That’s why you employ a GM of football. Thats why you employ a recruitment manager that isn’t the NRL Head Coach. Sorry but if Shaun is not involved in recruitment and retention, and Gallant has come up from only doing junior recruitment and Benji is still learning to be a head coach let alone doing recruitment - who here has experience balancing our salary cap? Who’s out scouting? How is Benji qualified to do both roles? Our football department is run on absolute crumbs, we refuse to employ anyone of note because we don’t have the funding to pay the wages their experience would demand. Richo could do all of this himself because he had the runs on the board and has built rosters from scratch.Shaun Mielekamp himself has stated recruitment and retention sits with Benji and Shannon Gallant.

His comments say the negotiations are on hold, I'm not disputing that.Terrells comments contradict this theory.
Just accept this for what it is.. the HBG drama in december impacted this specific negotiation with Terrell. Its not the end of the world. But it is the truth.
I am not.His comments say the negotiations are on hold, I'm not disputing that.
I'm just giving a reason as to why. Are you suggesting HBG told the CEO to put them on hold?
Mate got a question for youSo completely disregarding the actual players comment on the subject. Thats as biased and far fetched as you can get
It feels like a few posters are waiting for someone to leave to get their 'told you so' moment.
If it's the new CEO that's dropped the ball then yes. But Benji and Gallant are still in retention roles so maybe they dropped he ball. Whatever happened in December should have an impact of people at the club fulfilling their roles.I am not.
Are you suggesting there is no correlation between the hbg drama in december and the contract talks going cold?
