BRONCOS drama:

It's understood Pangai and Isaako are lucky to be playing this week, with the club seething they met with Maguire without permission.

Considering Pangai's history, he could be released immediately.

An NRL investigation inevitable

Rubbish, wasn't the media just recently reporting we asked permission and were granted it?

If however we do get investigated, im sure they will also investigate Matterson with Parra, Aloia with Manly ect ect...

Love how everyone is getting sooky about tigers being sly like come on they amount of players stollen from us is crazy....now it’s our turn fools

This is the exact same thing clubs like Brisbane, roosters etc have been doing for years

Too right and they got away with it so easily. Boot is now on the other foot.

You can just see the NRL making an example of us and penalties will follow even if we are innocent :face_palm:

TPJ and Isaako's salaries to be deducted from our cap & Robbie Farah cannot run water anymore.

That literally has to be wrong.

If we met them without 'permission', we would be in a world of trouble...massive fines and cap pens.

With our track record, i cant see this being the case. We would be crucified if we stuffed up again. In this day and age its inconceivable that we could fly up there take a meeting and not get found out.

Yes, Pascoe has messed up badly before. There is absolutely no way he would have got this wrong. We must have had permission.

The only way WT's went near these guys was if were in formed that the Broncs were looking to move them on, which is clearly the case

Doesn’t mean Kevvie knew

My understanding is you can talk to any player at anytime as long as you dont offer them a contract unless they are in their last year of a contract.Hoping somebody on here can confirm my belief or tell me i am wrong

Chris Gary is the Broncs version of Chaamas...gets fed directly from the club.

So, he has some sort of credibility. No doubt been told to run the story.

It puts us in a very bad light though, so I hope Pascoe comes out with a clear 'we were given permission' statement.

It's very hard to believe Tigers would entertain the idea of a secret meeting with contracted players without the Broncos permission however nothing would surprise me with the Tigers.

From Badel
The NRL says there will be no formal probe into Wests Tigers approaching Tevita Pangai Jnr and Jamayne Isaako.

Suggestions Brisbane made a complaint but NRL CEO Andrew Abdo will not launch an investigation. More to come @cmail_sport

You need permission to negotiate prior to Nov 1 of a contract year...Formal offers can be made after that date regardless..

If you are organising a clandestine meeting with a player you would not send 3 of your most high profile officials to do it.This is just the donkeys moaning because it makes them look like QLD hicks

Very weird....either they gave us permission (thus why the complaint) OR they did not give us permission (thus we would be in trouble).

Think is a pr battle to save face for the Broncos. That's my read on it all.. which could well be very wrong.

If the NRL has closed the probe door firmly shut then surely they have solid intel suggesting Tigers had full permission.

It's not Wests Tigers getting permission or any club..it's the individual players.. they either have been given permission to negotiate or they have not..

Now either the Donkey's did give certain players on their roster permission to look elsewhere or they didn't...given the talk out of Red Hill I'd say there's a good chance they have..

It begs the question, though, why would they give permission for two of their best players.

So reading between the lines from this mornings reports we just went up to hand over Billy Walters in a 3 way trade that gives us nothing but an extra spot to fill lol

Probably getting Milford and Lodge ?

That's what some are saying up here on Broncos forum..
Us discussing taking Milford for 550k a year and maybe a swap deal..
I think we need to close this tread and open a Milf one instead as thats where we are heading by reports. :face_palm: Now to top this news off would be for a normal Tigers lose tonight to complete the good day..

Milford is off contract end of this season, so there is no one 'taking' his contract / swapping.

He is a FA.

We could swap this season if that's who they are talking to..
E.g. Mbye for Milford -
Not saying I agree but Walters stated today TPJ and Isaako have not got permission to talk so must be someone up there they are talking to.

So a Melbourne Brisbane trade ?
TPJ for Finucane?

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters this morning met with Jamayne Isaako and Tevita Pangai Junior, following much speculation they had met with representatives from another NRL Club.

Jamayne stated he had met with Michael Maguire in his role as New Zealand Test Coach to discuss matters relating to International football.

Tevita categorically rejected suggestions being circulated in the media that any meeting took place with Maguire, also coach of Wests Tigers.

To be clear, neither player has been given permission, nor sought permission, to speak with other Clubs, and both players are contracted with the Broncos until the end of the 2022 season.

The Broncos consider this the end of this matter and will make no further comment.
