Sorry if this point was made earlier but as I understand it the only way that The Coach, FM & CEO of a rival club can talk to players still under contract is if the other Club has given permission to do so. This means that the media beat up that "The Tigers were sprung" tells you a lot about the mischief-makers in the MSM. Were they implying that The Tigers had broken contract negotiation protocol?

On an earlier segment of NRL Report, before NRL360, one of the reporters mentioned The Broncos Milford dumping and posed the thought bubble that maybe The Tigers would be interested! No one bit, but the silence was deafening!

We assume that Isaako & Pangai were the targets but as you all have heard, throw Lodge & Milford into the mix along with possible trades of Billy Walters and Mybe and you have more than a trip to discuss two players.

Interestingly on Twitter The Everything Weststigers podcast, he announced on Tuesday that he had a special player guest lined up for Thursday. But that was followed up with an apology early yesterday on Twitter advising a postponement due to a "Meeting" later that day (Wednesday).

We live in interesting times.

I think you can talk to who ever you like but you can't make an offer until a certain date.

That is correct,no offers allowed until the last year of the contract unless the other club has given permission

Yes and there is no way a club sends 3 guys up to Brisbane on plane to just chat especially considering they were there just 3 days prior.. Has to be to get the deal done and signed. I don't think anything will be announced until after the weekend regardless of outcome either.

I personally think we will get Isaako but not TPJ unfortunately as he would add the aggression we need.

If you went to look at the players Brisbane want to let go it would be a bit like looking a police line up .....

So Chris Garry (7 reporter) has just said Broncos and Isaako management are adamant that the fullback will be remain in Brisbane and they are bemused of the Tiger talk..
That is just strange as Tigers would not travel up there for nothing or at least have permission from Broncos.. Someone is telling porkies here I think :face_palm:
Maybe @THE_POM could clear this up ?

So a club that is coming 13th and only won two games should not be looking externally to recruit players that are better then what we have. We do not have a second winger in our club. Talau is a centre, cini is a centre /fullback, Hoffman flopped on the wing. Yet we don’t want a fast winger who can kick goals.

* 3 games.

The manager is doing standard PR in case it ends up Isaako wants to stay in Brisbane. Smoke and mirrors.

They said something similar before they released Joffa as well.

So, Isaako will be here in the next week or so. How it usually works with words like that.

TPJ would add a lot...

Can someone sell me on Isaako?

He is very poor defensively...57% tackle success.

Yes, he has some moments of speed / skill...but has tons of errors in his game...

He is small for a modern winger / back...slightly smaller than Nofa.

His one big plus is goal kicking, but we finally have a GK in AD.

Can someone who rates him highly explain why?

Wondering the same myself.

He looks a player of quality and has great utility value just not sure he is the best winger option we could look for.

Seems more about filling the depth chart ie fullback and goal kicking. Thats ok if thats the plan but trouble is youll end up with a team of Moses Mybes if utility is a big priority.

I don't rate him highly but he kicks goals and is a decent winger/fullback option. We need outside backs.

The signing makes sense for us and maybe losing him is okay for the broncos. I'd prefer Xavier Coates or JAC but it might work.

I have seen all the Broncs games this year and I'm curious why you think he is a decent FB option? He has looked really poor there IMO.

Tons of bad reads on kicks...tacking success at 57% (lowest in the comp for a regular FB).

He might be okay on the wing, but that would give us two smallish wingers as he is basically the same build as Nofa.

The Panthers wingers are pretty short...

Short is okay if you compensate for it in hit ups, reads, D, and tries...

To'o 240 plus a game...tackles at 93%...

Issako...140 a game at FB***....tackles at 57%

***Last season at wing averaged 104 (i.e. less than half of To'o)
