He would of meant the NRL wouldn’t agree to $350 as a nominal value of Vaughn’s contract.
Which I have to agree, Vaughn’s market value despite his recent suspension would be about $550.

If the dogs were to pick him up next year they could very well sign him for $350 as he would be only playing for 2/3rds of the season.
So a wise accountant would make that his first year salary to factor in the time lost in suspension.

It's a funny one - he "prefers" Team X, but only if they can pay him K dollars. If not, then he prefers the Team Y who does pay him K dollars. Seems really that he just likes K dollars.

Did I read the Dogs are after Paul Vaughan ? If so you would have to think they are out of the TPJ stakes ?
I hope this gets sorted ASAP either with us or not so we can move onto the next target.
My Gut feeling is he is waiting for other clubs to make moves so he can get a good deal elsewhere.

I would think recruitment would be looking at more than 1 target at a time..

A player's market value is irrelevant. We cannot offer to pay Munster 200k in the cap and 2 million in tpas. That's just not how the cap works.

That's an extreme example, but you can't just pay any player how much you want under the cap and call it market value

Yes I agree, but plenty on here keep rubbishing the Dogs and their recruitment, I don't get it, Barrett can attract good players, Madge can't attract a fly to a turd

Barret keeps getting his players because he keeps promising ever player he signs they are playing fullback and paying fullback money to have them on the wing. Eg cotric and foxx. They signed dufty to play there also. Nafen is rubbish can't even make the side at panthers even Jennings got a spot before him. Burton only went because he wanted a starting spot and knew Barrett already. Tpj won't sign there and also Vaughan.
