The Club that picks him up will own that suspension time...
100% but the post I was referring to said that the NRL wouldnt register him. They never de-registered him and as soon as that suspension is served he can play for who ever.
The poster your referring to is a bit wiser than that.
He would of meant the NRL wouldn’t agree to $350 as a nominal value of Vaughn’s contract.
Which I have to agree, Vaughn’s market value despite his recent suspension would be about $550.
Edit. Unless;
If the dogs were to pick him up next year they could very well sign him for $350 as he would be only playing for 2/3rds of the season.
So a wise accountant would make that his first year salary to factor in the time lost in suspension.
Vaughans market value, is what the market will pay for him.....thats kinda how markets work. His "market" value is greatly diminished by his own stupidity.
If the NRL or anyone else have a notional value for him, that is the opposite to Market value.
Haven’t you kind of said the same thing I just said?
Market value of $550 might be a little low, but would be the low scale of a high profile prop.
- the suspension / impacted value of being suspended would bring his face value down to 400-350k
Im not sure we are saying the same thing. WHat ever a club is willin gto pay him, IS his market value.....thats the market,
A player's market value is irrelevant. We cannot offer to pay Munster 200k in the cap and 2 million in tpas. That's just not good the cap works.
That's an extreme example, but you can't just pay any player how much you want under the cap and call it market value
Roosters seem to have gotten away with doing that in the recent past though.
