So with Gould joining the Dogs do you think it will assist them for getting TPJ or not?
Hopefully not and we can snag him..

I think it’s the opposite.

He isn’t Gould’s type of player. For a large investment of $$$ and year term. He would have to be certain of what he is buying.

Barret wants results now, where Gould will interested in long term success.

With their salary cap the way it’s moving, if you lock up TPJ as well as the other big contracts already signed. There’s not a lot of wiggle room to place his stamp on the market short term.

That is true because when he was at Penrith he moved on some of the players who were on big dollars even if they were playing well as he didnt consider them value for money

Yeah correct.

Difference here is many of the new brigade and signings are still finding there feet or on their way in.

Dogs 21 vs 22 will be completely different beasts.

I would be very wary leaving no wiggle room
Until you saw the deficiencies in your current roster, when they have only just freed up their salary cap.

Much like the position we will be in over the next 12-18 months.

Gus will have enough work cut out weeding out the dogs poor purchases recently , migh have to give him a new name "zero" or "round up"

The Gould-Dogs thing was being talked about in the press early June or maybe even before…

Phil Gould come out and denied it and said he wasn’t going anywhere but I knew for a fact he was still in talks with them
