Pangai is on 600k this year and 800k next year.
Broncos are willing to pay 350k next year and have already paid half this years salary. I’m told it will happen Broncos have leverage over Pangai stemming from last years
incident.

If the Tigers can get Pangai on 450k a season he’s worth the risk and can be a game breaker.
Broncos have overpaid forwards Pangai, Lodge, Haas and bent their cap out of shape.

This move is wise whilst he is a loose cannon and gets suspended he’s very strong and rarely is not one of the best forwards on the field. I’m all seriousness he’s better than any forward we have.

Told it will happen by a reliable source?

Would definitely be a huge plus for us.

Yep. There will be more carnage for broncos club is more toxic than the tigers under Jason Taylor. Good young players also want out Hetherington, Farnworth, Beullemor and other senior players being told to leave.

Are we giving them Billy because that will surely ease a toxic culture bringing in the coaches son who isn’t an overly good footballer ?

Would love to sign him but would not be overly disappointed if we miss out on him as I think our second row is the least of our concerns…

We urgently need decent halves and would much prefer our money went towards that…

Mate I think backrow is our weakest suit at present.

Center is our weakest, lock & backrow next. I feel we are 3 key players short of being a decent side.

We got Gildart coming next year, can’t say I don’t know any thing about him, but he is an international? The other one is Doueihi, they should do OK?

I didn’t think we needed another SR, but you can always use good players. Otherwise the pack is looking good anyway imo. The young blokes will only benefit from this season.

Good times ahead.

Not a popular thought here, but do we need a better FB, not saying Laurie is obsolete, I am sure he has a place in FG, but just lacks a bit in penetration, because of his size imo.

Correct.

I'm a fan of Seyfarth at lock. Maybe with enough game time he can lock it down

We can cover it though with Nofo and Ken M runs from the back. If you had minimal metre eaters on the wing you may need a bigger fullback.

Laurie just needs to up his effort around the ruck were he might find some broken field play

This recruitment is about credibility as a destination club.

The sort of credibility you get with playing finals footy?

On that point say we'd come 8th instead of 9th the four or five times it happened, would we be cut some slack? Probably not.

Personally I would be ecstatic with 9th. Rome wasnt built in a day

There's nothing worth buying in the halves, unless you consider Shaun Johnson a worthwhile investment. There are probably only 10 top quality halves in the league and they are all locked away. It's why Reynolds went for plenty and why the Dogs were prepared to throw plenty at Burton in the hope that he develops into a top quality half.
No point holding onto cash in the hope a top quality half suddenly becomes available because that will only happen if they have a major form slump.

There is nothing worth buying in the halves, but if we let Mbye go, who will fill that spot.

Im leaning toward keeping Mbye for next year.

EDIT: Forgot about Hastings, Im not excited about him but willing to wait and see

Size means little he’s deceptively strong and punches through the line. He has to work on his positional play but he’s going brilliantly for a rookie fullback. He’s a rookie and will grow into the position. Lack of patience is what got us into this mess .

He is showing good signs, issue is he needs to be better with his lateral defense. He misses alot of tackles and often pushes back down on tackles giving away resets.

Interesting that our website has the judiciary listing his charge only. I know the judiciary is listed after we play if any charges or fines are laid but this could be a sign he will be with us.

Appreciate we don’t upload this content as the sites are controlled by the NRL, however the timing is curious as it would normally go up after our team has played.

I checked the other NRL sides websites and only the Roosters have it for their charge. The Donkeys do not have it on their site which is also controlled by the NRL for their current player.

It may be nothing

Read the post before you type silly replies. No one has said he has to go.
We have one FB (2 if include Cini) we have a bucket load of cash, where do we spend it? Mbye is 6.
The forwards are solid imo
The halves are coming good imo
The backs have new blood which should improve them imo
I don’t think competition for spots hurts the team.
An old saying is, good big players will always beat good small players.
