So apparently the Roosters are in for TPJ and are serious about getting him... If thats the case we may as well close this thread and move onto the next dream..

I truly don't know the answer to this but the NRL brought the salary cap in to make the competition more even but it just is not working and with TPA it is just taking the piss out of it..
E.g. look at this Roosters player for next year and they still are in the business of getting more.
Luke Keary - 1million a season to 2024
Teddy - 1.1 million to 2024
Manu - 550k - 2022
Suaalii - reported 400-500k to 2022
Radley - around 600k to 2023
Crichton - 800k
Taukeiaho - around 400-500k
Tupouniua - around 400-500k
JWH - around 500-600k to 2023
Walker around 500k to 2023
Verrills - Around 350k to 2024

Plenty of others but you get the idea and they have 2 players alone earning 2.1mil a year and the other 28 players over the remaining 7 or so mil.. Add TPJ and his 800k Next year (broncos will pay some next year but he will want at least a 2-3 year deal on good money.

Something has to change for us to get out of this hole we have been in for years and the only think I can think of is paying overs for 2 or 3 top line players. Clearly they need to tick all the boxes unlike past ones. For me the only one that stands out is Brendan Smith as he show ticker EVERY game, Builds great morale in the group, Gets the team motivated and just wants to win regardless of how.

I would also like TPJ as he adds he mongrel we LACK and I see him killing it with a change of clubs. If we don't get him the club that will gets him will be licking there lips IMO.

If you were TPJ would you come here? You saw last nights game.

Hell No..... I cannot blame any player not coming here until something is fixed.
I said in the other thread if we could get Funicane and Smith and a full offseason with them we would be a top 8 team instantly. If we can offload Mbye and with Packer going that money alone would be available to at least temp them. (unlikely though)

So? He’s not staying at the Broncos and literally any other club has more appeal than we do.

Well if he’s been busting his gut trying to get things happening in a team that’s getting smacked every week then a move to the Tigers would be just more of the same. I’m sure there will be a better team out there who will pick TPJ up and give him a better chance to shine in a winning culture.

Would love to sign him but would not be overly disappointed if we miss out on him as I think our second row is the least of our concerns…

We urgently need decent halves and would much prefer our money went towards that…

Mate I think backrow is our weakest suit at present.

Center is our weakest, lock & backrow next. I feel we are 3 key players short of being a decent side.

We got Gildart coming next year, can’t say I don’t know any thing about him, but he is an international? The other one is Doueihi, they should do OK?

I didn’t think we needed another SR, but you can always use good players. Otherwise the pack is looking good anyway imo. The young blokes will only benefit from this season.

Good times ahead.

Not a popular thought here, but do we need a better FB, not saying Laurie is obsolete, I am sure he has a place in FG, but just lacks a bit in penetration, because of his size imo.

A few on here were howled down for putting Hynes forward - yea, he was hopeless last week against us.

Wont come here now the media are beating on about "tigers should not sign pangai".

Which is a shame as he's an upgrade on LL or LG.

Dont see why we dont go after both finucane(not at 800) and TPJ
