@mods - Can I report this for poor grammar?

He actually wrote a history of the Bulldogs and entered it for the Archibald Prize.

Dogs elliquition officer

This is a good miss for the Tigers. We need different players who can galvanise a young squad. I like Pangai he’s a beast but unless we get a centre with strike that can defend we will have the same issues.

Not enough upgrades for this comment

Bulldogs will either crash and burn or gel and threaten.

It's impossible to tell which it will be, but I'm hoping for the former.

The more you spend on overpaying elite players the less you have for the players that hold the club together. They will have a very unbalanced squad for the next few years.Injuries and suspensions will hurt them worse than any other club. They will contending for the spoon again

Ok, so what do we have exactly?

Bunch of players holding the club together?

The Bulldogs have a better squad than us next season, as it stands. Accept it.

I'm convinced it's more than the coach and club, for whatever reason player-managers have something against us and LOVE to use us as a bargaining chip.

This!

I think by standing our ground and not paying overs in the recent past, the Tigers have damaged or devalued their business model for signing up their older worn out players and the 2nd tier players.

If we remain patient then eventually the market will swing around in our favor!

I certainly accept that their top players would be better than ours on 2021 form as to weather that equates to a better squad is a different matter

With no hooker, fullback or halfback ..... go figure

So what you do in that instance is the Kerry Packer play. Revise your offer so you ensure that who ever gets them has to pay overs and it hurts them financially.

And how does that help us to sign players

Well the dogs have now almost spent all of their cap for the next few years. They've gone all in on instant success at the expense of culture. They'll have a heap of highly paid lazy players, that are a disruption in the dressing room. No one wanted Duffy, Vaughan, TPJ is erratic on and off the field, then you add they've signed almost 4 players on fullback money now: Naden 450, Allen 500, cotric 650, Jac 700+. Plus 3-400k on Dwz.

Add two football manager's butting heads, a hopeless coach and a crap spine. They'll have these big name players and prey they all come together. If they don't gel early it'll be carnage for years

The dogs are spending massive amounts of money for bandaid solutions. There is a disaster looming which will take many years to fix.

Meanwhile we rub faeces into our cuts

Missed another target 🙄
Regardless of whether we think he's good or worth the coin, we missed out. Again.....
We can upgrade our juniors, fine.
We can keep Signing cheap players looking for second chances e.g Roberts.
TPJ is not marquee, he is prob mid level.
We can't even sign them.
The media doesn't focus on overs, they splash the headline "Tigers miss out"
The more we lose these players, regardless of the reason, the more it puts off the next in line.
Something needs to change.
We either start winning or hire a coach that attracts these players.

Is it official? I remember Api Koroisau was a done deal to Bulldogs, then Penrith came in with an 11th hour deal.

Luke Lewis at the WT's rings a bell as well ...that was an exciting moment and a half

Lucky we have the longest finals drought record already. These juniors of ours look promising but we need someone better than mbye, tamou to teach them.
Finucane would have been perfect but according to those in the know, we haven't even put a bid in?
We need to steal ppl from the Melb system.
If that's not worth paying overs for then I dont know what is.

Dufty can be pretty handy.

Halfback and hookers job becomes much easier with those new signings. Lewis and Katoa (sp?) just need to do a simple job.

They'll go good next season, watch.

Works for Manly.

But the dogs aren't Manly

Manly would only have DCE on overs the dogs will have far more on overs than that

No Manly have one of the most lopsided top end rosters in the league. Their roster is about ,8 players. The rest are bit players.

Enjoy your spoon

They’ll get the spoon this year, but they won’t next year. We’d be short price favourites.

Will get it. Willing to take any bets from people who say otherwise

The teams below us have improved their rosters whereas we haven’t. It’s a shoe in

It's not that simple. You just got to wait and see what happens.

It really is that simple. We’re hopeless now and we’ll be the same next year. Dogs and Broncos have made good signings

It's not that simple. You don't know how things will go. I understand where you are coming from though. The Dogs and Broncos have bought really well.

I vote for winning. I'm not worried about missing out on these types of players. I want to see more signings like Stef, Luc, AD and Laurie. I know it's not easy but we've made some good signings and none have been high profile.

Chammas on 100% Footy asked Kevvie Walters about Pangai reportedly ringing Maguire and informing him that he will join the Tigers. Did anyone else see that?
