its mind-blowing that people supporters dont want him. The other team to throw their hat in the ring is the roosters but hey he isnt good enough for our fans lol

Nothing to do with him not being good enough. More to do with the huge risk of signing someone on big money who has form at being a liability with his ill-discipline on-field for me.
JWH has had a great run at the Roosters of repeatedly getting off charges at the judiciary, the Roosters would be banking on producing the same 'magic' with TPJ if he signed with them instead of us.
Would be willing to bet that TPJ will spend a heap of time on the sidelines through suspension if he joins WT.

Tigers or Roosters is the word

If you were Pangai, where would you go if $ isn't the issue
Besides Cordners $ are available
But I don't think he is a Roosters Signing
I think they would be after a Sua or cheese type of player

Roosters could well manage to have TPJ, Su'a and Cheese all in their colours next year. Wouldn't surprise one bit with the monopoly money they use for their salary cap dealings.

If he's watching from the sidelines it won't be much value.
If he does sign hopefully he absolutely kills it for our club for sure. There is a huge risk it could turn into a disaster signing as well. We'll see how it all plays out.

I might be wrong, but didn't TPJ shop himself to the Roosters and they said no?

PS - In case anyone missed it

It was mentioned earlier in the week when Cordner announced his retirement that the roosters cap position for next year is still tight regardless.
They have had a lot of their ‘bargain buys’ become exceptional players for them.
There is no chance Lindsay, Tuponua and Butcher will stick around for the $150 k they’ve been paid in the past.
Throw in Keary, Walker, Radley, Suali, Tedesco. Manu, JWH, Crichton, Takiaho off contract next year there’s a bit of cap needed to be spent internally. Issac Lui off contract this year as well, whom we are also trying to lure.

Lets hope we get this Pangai and this Roberts, with Joe O in teh background.

Is that, irony of all ironies, Kevvie Walters commentating at the back end of that clip?

No idea how Pangai picks up JTJ, on the front-on view he never looks back or sideways.

The thing is he would most likely improve his form at the Roosters with good team structure and good players around him. At the Tigers?...not so much and every chance he’ll end up still being average.

Nah I reckon the opposite, I reckon he's a little too much of a loose cannon to fit into such a strict structure like Storm or Roosters. He'd do something dumb and they'd crucify him for it. They are already cross enough with hotheads like Radley and Roosters don't tend to sign loose cannons any more.

At Tigers dumb is par for the course.

Wasn't only a couple of weeks ago the Walters stated that TPJ was going nowhere and the Tigers were told to keep their hands away from him.
Seems like Kevie speek with forked tongue.

Learned from Bennett.

I guess, you could say all signings come with risk? We've certainly had our share of dud ones.

Even if his signing does come of, he'll be suspended for the first couple of games for his crusher on Murray. Who'd have thought that huh? I think e get carried away with names. The reality could be having a player that has earned a reputation that keeps him off the field more than on it.

Didn’t pangi grow up in Burwood or something?

Ashfield

Interesting

His brother David played junior reps for Balmain and he was an outstanding junior who then played at the Roosters and North QLD before settling in Canberra.

He could carve up for us or be a big flop, or both in the same game. He's probably been playing the best footy of his career this year been punching out some really good numbers but still has some laziness in his game.

It makes sense for us just hope if he comes we don't get the bad part of his game when he plays for us which seems to happen more often than not when we sign players like him. Hopefully it's more like Luciano where he switches on and puts a big effort in to improve his weaknesses.

He could be huge for us! As good as Kikau on his day.If he lands here,I hope our crew can get him playing consistent.
Madge was able to get Luciano playing well, fingers crossed.
I’d would be nice to have a huge angry presence on our edge 😂

Smart signing if it eventuates. TPJ is an enforcer and will slot in nicely alongside an already impressive forward pack. In regards to him being a hothead and undisciplined we said the same about Joe O when he was signed but he has settled in nicely, pulled his head in and playing good footy.
I look forward to seeing a back row of JO, LL and TPJ. Bring it on

TPJ stats for this year:

15 games
3 tries
2 try assists
48 offloads (most in the NRL)
89.6% tackle efficiency
121.8 running metres a game

Pretty good for the team running dead last at the moment.

I'd be thrilled to have his x-factor, but we're crying out for consistency and leadership. Don't think he can help there at all.

I think that you would be surprised at how consistency may follow getting an opposing pack on the back foot.

amazes me how the donkey's pack doesnt dominate

Takes commitment to yourself and each other , belief and willingness. Something our club is rediscovering after years of being infected by disenfranchment and infighting.
So glad to see it transmitted to the Broncos and the Bulldogs. Just waiting for the Storm, Rorters, and Panthers to contract it.
