Broncos legend Ben Ikin will return to the fold as the club’s new head of football.

News Corp’s Peter Badel and Phil Rothfield broke the news on Monday.

Currently the co-host of Fox League’s NRL 360, Ikin replaces the recently-sacked Peter Nolan, who was shown the door after Brisbane’s latest loss.

The acquisition is a major step in CEO Dave Donaghy’s plan to restore Brisbane to its former glory under new coach Kevin Walters.

News Corp reports that Ikin will appear in his final episode of NRL 360 this Wednesday evening. Fox is yet to announce his replacement.

**Just guessing...but I presume this means all Broncs player movement will be on hold for a while. Ikin may well decide he wants TPJ and Lodge to stay.**

If anyone has heard Ikin on FOX, he has been VERY critical of Kevvie Walters the past few weeks. I can't see him allowing Kevvie to make many decisions from here. Will be very surprised if Walters still has a job next season actually.

Wouldn't expect to many good comments from the Fox team, now that their mate has gone to the Bronc's?

Very astute Ikin is & if the Broncos are serious they will let Ikin run wild. Maybe its the Broncos ploy to get Bennet back as well. Ikin & Bennet have a close bond.

I thought Ikin and his father inlaw had a frosty relationship, possibly due to Bennett banging the hired help when at the knights, then leaving his wife

Ikin is a Bronco legend. Really?

Yeah, he played 55 games for them according to the fox report? Legend is a cheap work at Fox.

Yep. I know when I think of Broncos legends, I think of names like Langer, Walters, Lockyer, Webcke and Ikin.

I dare say ikin would be the reason they are moving him on and other players aswell I would him say he has already been talking to the club about this unless they are completely useless and told players to leave a week before they get a new head of football haha

Wont come here now the media are beating on about "tigers should not sign pangai".

Which is a shame as he's an upgrade on LL or LG.

Dont see why we dont go after both finucane(not at 800) and TPJ

While I don’t think TPJ alone is a good idea, get both and other NRL players would take notice. Both guys would bring a different quality to our weakest position group.

Ikin said a few times last year when he was applying for the Broncos CEO job that he would move TPJ on if he got the job.

Since when is it the job of the CEO to move on players? What a tosser.

Hopefully, the WT will remember Mr Ikin bias, and use his comments as a motivation and smash the Mules!

The word motivation should never be used in the same sentence as the Weststigers ..this team could not smash the head off a rice pudding .

So I'm assuming this thread is dead in the water now..
I think after our lovely performance on Saturday he would be looking anywhere but here or even staying at broncos. I cannot blame him either..

I only hope out recruitment team are not sitting there mulling over a 20k difference with an agent and we miss out because of it.. Not just for TPJ but any top line players because if they have one keen to come here they should be showering them with love and getting them signed anyway they can.. We just need 1 to start the domino effect.
Hell if they need me to start a Go Fund me Page to help I will be happy too.

We're going better than the Bronc's.

I'd imagine he's getting ready for a move to Bondi. Just finalizing his preferred car colour and shade of white for the teeth.
