Apart from Kevvies on again off again mood swings,Im guessing TPJs manager upped the ante on us,possibly with new clubs entering the tpj market and possibly not...and it simply teed us off
..yet again
Its just not a good look either way Tiger management!
Looks like the desperate and dateless...which cld be true...
Since we’re all speculating..
You could be close to the mark? The price was obviously in the ball park, otherwise there’s no need to keep talking, right?
I often wondered why our 3 heavyweights flew north on a mission and then it got hosed down by every man and his dog?
Here’s my take.. player manager gives the go ahead. Our big 3 make the trek north. The already under pressure Kevvie, who is still under control of the roster at that time (and wants others to know it) calls it publicly. The media and everyone else , realising Kevvie is right, also realise there’s nothing in it for anyone to expose the facts, just simply drop it.
Now here’s where I think WT may have tripped. They are divided on wether Pangai is a good fit because the refs will keep giving him time off. I think Sheens would have been the most vocal and finally the pro Pangai group make a concession which puts us out of the race for his signature. They heavily weighted the contract price toward attendance? Let’s say they wanted 20 games per season with the total contract of say $700k, with $350k /20 games= $17,500 match payments.
Speculation on my part, but the only thing that makes sense to me.
I’m not overly concerned we look likely to miss out on Pangai. I would like to see the club more united in the decision making process though.
Sheens only gave his opinion after the offer was withdrawn.
Care to share it? Or at least give us an example of the feeling of his thoughts?
He agreed walking was the right decision.
On a related note the club has got his flight booked home, with covid that had been difficult and he will be on deck late in the month.
So sheens will have a hand in first grade?
His primary role is in Pathways, but his opinion will be sought in other areas. He is being looked ay as a mentor across the club, there are already sheenisms coming out in the language of the club. Things like "You are not a 1st grade player until you have played 100 games" I think that used to be 50 games lol. The club is very keen to get the right 150 game players in to support what is the youngest squad in the comp.
I think is should be, "You are not a first grader until you have won 50 games"
Sheens used to say that about the 2005 crew all the time.
Do you know who’s idea it was at the club to bring sheens back it’s quite innovative for them IMO
I believe it was Pascoe.
