Tevita Pangai Junior

Looks like we were in on TPJ, then he wanted more, and when Su'a became an option we ditched our offer and offered the cash to Su'a instead (you can only make offers if you have that cap space available to accommodate it at the time - hence you can't just put out offers to 8 players on 800k and see if amy take the bait. )

After Su'a seemingly chose the dragons now suddenly we're back in on TPJ.

Given we'd be oaying Su'a 500k i think TPJ on 650 is better value.

Broncos would prefer to offload him asap no doubt

I think also journos jump the gun about how close a player is to making a decision. No doubt the manager is still going back and forward trying to extract the maximum deal and the pro-Bulldogs talk may simply be a representation of a greater number of negotiations with Bulldogs, rather than a decision to go with Bulldogs.

According to Reed, bulldogs offer was $2.1 over 3 years. They don’t want to spend any of this years cap on him though. Apparently Broncos want him gone ASAP.
This is the same journo who claimed WT had made a formal offer.

Reed was good when Marina Go was on the board and he worked with her husband. His Tigers info has been haphazard since then...

I reckon Reed is one of the better ones. He’s not always right but he doesn’t do clickbait rubbish like the Hooper and Crawleys of the world.

Exactly, I was more talking about his insight to the tigers as opposed to his credibility as a journalist. He is defiantly one of the best ones around.

“There was no formal offer.

“But there were discussions with respect to provisions of a contract.

“But there was no formal offer put on the table.”

“The club, as it does with all potential opportunities on the market, considered Tevita and decided to move in a different direction.
I didn't actually meet with him but I’m told he’s a great young fella, very impressive young fella

“And we know how good of a footballer he can be but the club just made a decision that that wasn’t the direction they wanted to move, so we didn’t.

Pangai Jr's future still remains up in the air, with the forward potentially seeing out his Brisbane contract until the end of the 2022 season.

Above excerpt from Lee Hagipantelis recent Breakfast with Vossy SEN 7/7/21.

“Moving in a different direction “ could mean looking at a different solution to the same problem?

Guess that might be the reason for the renewed interest in TPJ

Chammas pulling a rope-a-dope..

Chammas is covering his backside in case Tigers do something positive he can turn it into a negative.

Today on SEN Jimmy Smith made a point about Chammas giving it to the Tigers 4 days in a row saying “I wonder why?” In a tone of voice signifying he knows exactly why

JImmy Smith seems a decent bloke.

Jimmy is pretty good a Roosters man but pretty good commentator all the same.
Big Sports Breakfast shoukd have kept him

SEN will have killed the BSB and Talkin' Sport

I’m just curious though on how many other Chairpersons get interview spots on commercial radio? Lee seems to be a bit of a regular, from what I read? Are there others too? How many, and who are they?

Lee is a strong character and knows his stuff as the principal of Brydens Lawyers.

He has a segment that discusses current legal issues on 1170 SEN with Andrew Voss.

I like the segment very much. He cut the media talk to peices at times.

I credit LH with putting a bit of steal in the tigers Management team and knowing what and how sustained business success is achieved.

He doesn't take crap.

Lee H is good for the club I just wish he had not have got involved with the Nofo contract wrong move to have offered 4 years

I agree totally but having heard why. I can cut him some slack. I would do anything for my daughters

Pangai won't rip himself off
If Broncos want him off their books this year then they will need to chip in so he doesn't miss out on $
At a guess I would say they now want to go after Vaughan
Even if they say they don't want to
They can't make a move unless they know Pangai is gone for sure
Lodge is gone
Pangai is going
The best prop on the market will be Vaughan
Of course Broncos are sniffing

Perhaps Pangai is holding out for his $100k promised by Broncos? Broncos are going to need to tip in if they want him gone. Interestingly, Pangai can’t play until round 20 and Vaughan in 8 games.

If the club has some cap spare this year, you sign Vaughn NOW and massively front load his contract. He wont play this year but get it all sorted up front.

How do we know it was promised by Broncos? The only reports Ive heard is that it is a TPA in which case the Broncos cant pay it or will be fined.

I'd love to have Pangai and Vaughn here..

It would seriously improve our forward go ten-fold.

When they're on, they're both real good. My Concern is the Attitude - B***oth strike me as Pay cheque type guys.***

I worry we have to many of these guys in our club already and there's only so much Inspiration Magic Madge can instill in the guys during training.

Will they turn up and perform during games week on week??

I dont get the pay cheque vibe from Vaughan.

Last week he ran 262m with 105m post contact in 66 minutes. That is elite and we have never had that. The week before 146m in 54mins, the week before 120m in 53mins in a loss to Bulldogs.

They are good stats

As a result Nofa’s form has dropped off and his teammates are reluctant to support him in defence.

Any teammate who is reluctant to support any other player in the side in defence/attack should not be playing.Football is a team game and helping your team members is the key to success

Mate I remember when I was a kid and the Tigers would sign a couple of 24 year olds from the bush that nobody had heard of and they would turn out to be quality FG footballers. These days every club has a spreadsheet and a video package on every kid from 12 to 22 who has the slightest hint of talent. Finding a diamond is near impossible.

Anyway maybe Sheens has the next Gareth Ellis lined up. You can always dream

Sheens has been finding diamonds in the rough for 30 years Wiki , Pongia ,Lomax ,Tuiaki etc etc etc etc

But we seen some signings ...I think the confidence across the entire club is at an all time low ......

With the exception of Tamou, BJ and JTJ (all were worth a crack), all of the Madge era signings have been good IMO.
