Apologist for what ? are you serious?
In this moment in time is what his being judged on and his better than Moses by the length of the Flemington straight .
No one isn't wishing Moses not to be a star or the best player in the game down the track , some people are just saying that Austin should of been retained and there's nothing to apologise about either .
I for one am glad Austin was let go, and all you Austin apologists are teary eyed because he's won a few games at Canberra. He'd only be useful to us this year coming off the bench instead of Santi. Blake Austin is not that great. So he's made a few line breaks this year, he showed he could do that last year with us, so what? He is an individual player, not a team player. Who is even his halves partner this year? He''ll break a tackle and run, he isn't setting anything up, check his assists this year. He is getting big wraps cause Ricky has given him free-reign to do whatever. He'd do nothing under the current system Taylor is trying run and defeats the whole purpose of giving Moses and Brooks a chance to mature earlier from experience. Defensively, he's as good as Brooks, a second year 21 year old. As for Moses, he's having a season defensively that mirrors Brooks last year.
This is Moses' first season in the top grade and he has shown promise paired with ability to be a much greater player than Austin. Especially, since he is playing under a controlled system, which he has said is the total opposite of how he grew up playing. Brooks has come a long way since last year, Moses can develop into a future captain for this club and letting some never-will-be like Austin play in front of him makes absolutely no sense to me.
Obviously, we all want wins now, however, that frustration can create irrational judgement. We should be trying to focus on the possible greatness we are watching grow with this young Tigers team. Lastly, Moses partnered with Brooks is better than either of them paired with Austin by the length of the Flemington straight .
You can't really be that stupid. Austin was our best last year and Moses is our worst now. Moses isn't going to get any better and Austin will play SOO next year. Austin has scored 3 tries on more than one occasion this season, once at rep level, when the Tigers as a team have not been able to score 3 tries in a game on several occasions. Has Moses even scored 3 tries this entire season? Give up on Moses, he just doesn't have what it takes to play NRL.

@tottie said:I remember all the dogs fans saying how good Anasta was, SOO player etc and how Thurston was small, couldn't tackle and plays a selfish game. Well i wonder how the dogs fans feel now!!!
I am not saying that moses will be as good as Thurston either, but i am saying let him develop and see what happens. (1 season doesnt make a first grader). The only issue for moses (and brooks) progression will be the pack he / play behind because Thurston at the dogs and cowboys has played behind massive and aggressive packs.
Unfortunately the fact is that halves benefit and develop from playing behind good packs and the time and field position they provide and not getting a few sets in the opp 20 per half to show skill and the rest of the game trying to attack etc from their own 40m mark.

but you do make yourself look ridiculous, when you make some of these over the top comments about Moses.
Yes there's definite opinions about him here, but maybe you don't watch any of Canberra's games, otherwise you may have a different opinion of Austin.
The two players are on a different level at this time, but to call Austin a "never will be " just shows that either you have no idea, or just never watch anyone other than Moses.
You should be hoping that Moses gets to Austins level as soon as possible, as then he would be playing a lot better. Rather than Bagging Austin.
