That last try was not a try

Just watched the reply….that was a fair Try...Moltzen didn't have a hand on him...if he did it would've been a no try...

Moltzen had his hand on the ball when it was grounded short of the line originally
That is a tackle The second movement becomes a double movement
Works the same way coming out of the ingoal
Don't worry Harragon will come out with some rule that contradicts 2 other rules

It is not deemed a tackle if an opposition hand is placed on the ball, only if an opposition hand (or even a finger) is placed on the man carrying the ball while he is on the ground, if his momentum has stopped, or the arm carrying the ball has touched the ground while being touched by the defence. Fair try, no arguments from me…it put them in front on the scoreboard but it didn't cost us the game.

Not a try, expected with Hayne and Maxwell officiating though.

Irrelevant, 2011 is over…

One thing though with your ''argument''….the video ref awarded it.

How could they say the referee ruled that he wasn't held if he'd already blown time off and went to the video ref?

Shouldn't have went to the video in the first place.

Seriously though, our record under Hayne and Maxwell must be <30%.

It was CLEARLY a try.
Those saying it was a double movement, look you can attempt to ground the ball as many times as you want if you are not held and Inu was not held.
Just think if it was us that had the ball and that decision determines our season, we would all say it was a try.

We had a lot of luck tonight, almost all the 50/50 calls went our way, we had 57% possession yet we didnt put them away. I heard Steve Waugh say once 'Whoever wins, deserves to win, whoever loses, deserves to lose'. They won, they deserve it, we lost, we deserve it.

Personally I thought Inu (? I forget now and I'm not going to watch a replay) touched it but it was dubious enough to give benefit of the doubt. Lote had every chance to hold on to the ball and Lawrence (I think) was spectating when all he had to do was put a hand on the Warriors player.

To be honest though we deserved to lose. That second half was terrible.

Just re-watched Inu's "try" again frame by frame. Hayne's left arm goes up as Moltzen and Lawrence appear to touch Inu when he grounds the ball short.
I note the Fox commentary team thought it was no try too – at least before the video ref ruled.

We wuz robbed.

Yeah well next time kick the friggin ball on the 5th tackle with 4 to go, then they might not get a chance the team is to braindead dumb to know to do that though

Oh God, please don't remind me! That brain explosion on the 5th was right in front of me - I just wanted the the ground to open up and swallow me right about then :bawling

This thread is embarrassing. Not only was it without question a fair try, the Tigers were gifted a bunch of undeserved penalties.

Worst decision that went against us all game was the strip call against Fulton, and at best that was the fourth or fifth worse call of the second half.

Try or no try. It's over.

ITS OVER

If we were good enough, we win. For some reason we didn't shut them out.

We had more than our fair share of luck in the last 10 weeks, it was bound to run out sometime. Still doesn't stop the hurt but

I to am shattered but the suns up and its a new day, now i have looked at the TRY about 10 times now and i agree with the fact it should not have been awarded, the reason being an earlier post put me on to it Hayne signalled time off, it was then that inu lunged for his 2nd attempted and got it over the line, regardless if he had a hand on him or not the ref stopped play yet he continued and got away with it. Look i am not a sore loser but i would like an even plaaying field, and besides it was alwys going to be a melb v brisb gf cause thats what the nrl want, but as i said its a new day tigers12

X2\. WTF was Farah thinking? Where were the options? Seasons come down to exactly those things.

I thought it was a try. You may be correct but you get these decisions sometimes. The thing is: We allowed them to get into this position. It was like the Saints game last week; only in reverse. All the ball and penalties in the first half and then a complete turn around in the second half. All year we have had trouble putting two good halves together and putting teams away.

Anyway: Fish & Chips Wrappings! :bawling

It was a try. And as usual we let a player who has done nothing all year carve us up. We have no one to blame but ourselves 57% possession and a 9-4 penalty count.

All moltzen had to do was to place a hand on Krisnan Inu.. GAME OVER…....

See photo on front page of sport section of the herald. Moltzen does not have a single finger on Inu? You are kidding.

Disgraceful decision and to say Wests had enough chances to win the game is a cop out for officials. Finals are supposed to be close and every decision critical. It was the wrong decision and now a team exits on poor refereeing.

The real loser is the NRL. Promoters dream and a great shot in the arm for the game in Melbourne if Wests played the Storm. Due to inept officials, that opportunity is lost.

yeah that's what I want a double check on myself, did the Ref actually stop play? I thought he had initially. Need a video of that bit to have another look.
