The Ashes

6 wickets for 57 runs, comprehensive.

Aleem Duh should never umpire a Test match again. Makes Steve Bucknor look like Richard Kettleborough.

Happy now , same result just another way of getting the W , as my Math teacher used to say "there's more than one way to skin a cat "

You were starting to sound like that freak on the Forum last week that was losing the plot and wanting the board skinned and roasted

Even Smith yesterday was hesitant when asked if he would do the same way again. Took him forever to answer and when he did he said "well, I got the win."

Fair enough he got the result, but hopefully he learns from it.

If we were going to pick Marsh for Perth, I'd rather we just put a specialist bowler in because Marsh offers zilch with the bat and is only average with the ball.

Yeah I agree CB..given the same circumstances and conditions again I reckon he would of sent them back in…

I see the merit in not enforcing the follow on ...Workload on our Bowling attack is critical..because our batsmen for the most part are still struggling...it's only been individual innings from Smith and Marsh that have had us in good positions..

Poms seem to have no answer to our Bowlers tho..All of them have been exceptional..

The only difference between Smith and Root was that Root adamantly backed his decision to field first (which you've got to do when you lose.)

If we were on day 4 of the Perth Test I could understand having another bat. But it was Adelaide, rather mild conditions, night session so even cooler again and the guys bowled a combined 75 overs or something to that effect. Garry bowled 24 of them and Starc bowled 20 so they weren't run off their feet.

The WACCA hasn’t been fast and bouncing quickly for a few years now. It’s turned into a bit of a road. Handscomb will most likely get dropped. For someone that could bowl 10 overs in an innings.
Iooks like it might be Mitch Marsh in. How about Maxwell? Unlucky not to be included in the squad. Jackson Bird is in the squad. So if it’s a real road there could be a possibility of Aust moving Cummins above Starc in the batting order and playing four quicks as well as Lyon.
However M Marsh is most likely to be included

Yeah it was 50/50 for me , but India and Headingley will haunt many current cricketers

It's still all if's but's and maybe's tho …I think I said given the same conditions on reflection Smith may have made a different decision..he has said as much while still backing his call not to send em back in

The result was never in doubt . Steve Smith is a champion bloke and player… he's going to be a better skipper than the two previous flogs in Ponting and Clarke , you won by 120 runs yet you's still whinge harder than any poms .

I think we need to realize that now England seems to have found it's bowling mojo that we have a series again

I wouldn't be surprised if England can bowl as well as they did in the 2nd innings throughout the rest of the series that we end up with a 3-2 ashes result (our way of course )

How about Travis Head?

In the last Shield game, he got 132 in 1st innings, 65 in the 2nd innings and also picked up a wicket.
In the game before, 1st innings he got 80 from a team total of 141, 2nd innings he got 31.

He's represented Australia in the shorter formats and is only 23 years of age.

Could be worth a shot.

If you bring in a bowler Behrandorff , the Poms don't seem to like the lefties and it is his local ground

Batsmen wise leave it in my opinion , Handscomb has been unlucky when he has come in and what the ball is doing at that time

I don't think it physically possible to whinge harder than the Poms. I've been tuning into the BBC radio coverage for some Schadenfreude when we're on top. No praise for the Aussies there. Everything seems to come down to luck according to those guys. They whinge about the kookaburra ball, the weather, the Aussies batting and bowling it's hilarious. They are world champion whingers. I think they secretly like loosing so they can whinge.

What do you expect listening to the BBC

Believe me the Aussies whinge just as much as the English if not more !
Just read some of happy Tigers posts

P.s the Kookaburra ball is an inferior product to the Duke ball , always has been

I don't like the seem on a duke. Prefer the grip and release of the Kookaburra and it's carry. the dukes are rubbish.
