I think our forward were okay. Edges need work. Utai too slow and single handedly cost us two tries with physical deficiencies. Koro you can forgive because Uate was in fine form and he's young and will learn. Lawrence hmmm dunno, I'm remiss to drop him but he doesn't look good. I can't see Anasta getting dropped unfortunately but I don't think Moltzen is safe. I reckon Anasta might warm the pine though with Reddy replacing Utai and Teddy straight swapping Moltzen. I think Bell might get cycled out for Pettybourne too next week.

I suggest you waych again, bell came on at 6-4 and came off at 40-6, he had a particular poor night, a very bad penalty a worse pass for a back breaking try and a terrible miss tackle as well.
bell was very good last year but this week was terrible.

The same Koroibete that is quite visibly the fastest player in league? The guy that can run, tackle AND catch a ball most of the time? That's all his job is, and he does it shittingly well. He just needs a forward pack that will secure him some possession.

Plus he's the only player in our team who seems to have any level of fitness.

Pettybourne in (always runs hard and lifts team as a result). Tedesco at full back (moltzen bench or NSW cup), Nofualuma at wing (Utai anywhere but first grade). To me Galloway seemed like a liability withis lateral movement in defence and his slow motion hit ups. I think a few player injections would mean a chance to make the 8 this year. I doubt we can be genuine contenders until 2015\. But i wont give up

Thats what I saw too Willow.When Galloway went off we were getting steamrolled and made no ground at all.

The awful truth is that we won't realise our best (whatever that is) until the 2nd half of the season, such is the playing roster mess that Sheens has left behind him. And the over-weighted authority that he has allowed R&B to become accustomed to playing with!

I trust that Potter sees where we are now, and has a vision as to where he wants this squad to be. In order to get there he will have to take it slowly but surely, like any good coach. So hopefully there are several players on notice whom also have been given a simple and clear directive that must produce or suffer the consequences over the coming weeks.

There will be some ugly moments this season but the OP has sold several players short in his summation.

My expectations were never great for 2013 and after the foundation cup i knew we were going to struggle.I cant think of to many sides that finished outside the eight from last year that have not built up significantly from last year, and I think we have gone backwards.

I doubted the signing of Anasta from day one at this stage of his career he is a no6 or nothing and my guess would only be effective in a very strong side. I shut my eyes every time the Knights made a charge at him

Benji is just a shadow of the player he once was and it is very unlikely he will ever get any where near he once was. Our forwards just dont have the vigor and power that is required in both attack and defense.A rookie no7 behind a pack that is getting smashed and a rookie no7 that is given precious little responsibility is a receipt for disaster.

People are calling for a influx of youth into the team, in my opinion that is a sure way of destroying young talent. The old sink or swim thing went out years ago and even the best young talent needs to be very carefully managed.Matt goat is a perfect example of a young kid that got thrown in the deep end way to early.

I have said before the Sheens/McDonald team have a lot to answer for they recruited poorly and let some fair talent go. What are the answers for 2013??? Hard work and hope it dosnt end with a wooden spoon

I really don't understand how a team can be that flat, mentally, in the first game of a brand new season. I can understand that set moves will be rusty and that a team can be overpowered by a physically bigger, stronger and faster side on the day. However, the the heads went down, players were barking at each other and the bad body language appeared so early in the game the other night. Unless something changes quickly with the team's mental attitude, this does not bode well for a good season, imo.

I agree with GNR, I think we definitely missed our window of opportunity for another premiership in 2010/2011\. We had a better, more balanced team then than we do now, imo. WT were playing as well as St George when they won their premiership. That 1 point loss, under dubious refereeing, was heartbreaking!

Thats what I saw too Willow.When Galloway went off we were getting steamrolled and made no ground at all.

I thought Buchanan was our best forward on the night. My perception on Galloway may be wrong if he made more than 100metres in attack, he just always looks like (due to his size) very slow when carting the ball up and lateral defensive movement. He is still clearly our starting prop with Woods at this stage.

I think a backline with Marshall, Koro and Lawrence can score some points.

The problem is having Anasta and Fulton as starting 2nd rowers and then carrying players like Miller and Moltzen who might be good but aren't at this point. Marshall needs a rocket up his backside as well.

Overall though the roster in my opinion is not really the problem.

All the talk in the off season from the coach was about, cutting out the razzle dazzle, getting our defense up to scratch and having a great kick chase game.

This all went out the window very early, turnovers,simple mistakes and a poor kicking game. The more pressure they were put under the more they compressed their defense and that created the space that made our outside backs look stupid.

I actually thought they defended the middle well, till I realized that they had stacked the numbers so much. Anyway we have played one of the better sides and got a touch up, now for Penrith, this game will really tell us where our season is going

Hopefully he realises quickly that we can't carry Anasta's defence in the backrow, especially outside Miller. Play him at lock where he's defending in the centre of the field with the stronger defenders and put someone who can tackle next to Miller.

WESTS Tigers CEO Stephen Humphreys has been placed on notice as the club struggles to overcome a difficult summer off the field.

News Limited has learned Tigers board members recently spoke to Humphreys about several shortcomings in the joint-venture's performance.

The board - riven with factional differences - is particularly disappointed by the delay in extending skipper Robbie Farah's contract.

Angst also continues over the fact sacked coach Tim Sheens continues to be paid in full, despite being dismissed in favour of Mick Potter almost six months ago. It's understood Sheens still invoices the club.

Humphreys considered resigning amid the turmoil of Sheens' departure last October, at the same time popular pair Beau Ryan and Chris Heighington left for Cronulla.

The situation placed a tremendous strain on Humphreys, who operates under one of the competition's most dysfunctional and antiquated board structures.

But he decided to bat on, with former Sea Eagles CEO Grant Mayer hired to strengthen the commercial department.

Since then, however, Wests Tigers have encountered financial strain because of Balmain's inability to satisfy its funding requirements thanks to ongoing delays in the redevelopment of a new leagues club at Rozelle.

As the Wests' half prepares to cover the shortfall in exchange for greater decision-making power, significant management changes have been forecast. But the entire board is frustrated over the Sheens and Farah imbroglios.

The Tigers made Farah an offer a month ago, which has not been accepted despite his preference to be a one-club player.
