Pretty harsh Basil I would shag Julia Gillard and sell my soul to be even able to play golf properly again ,let alone play off scratch 😛ray:

Yeah, just a tongue in cheek remark no to be taken too seiously,he done well to get to scratch but in the world of Pro. Golf that is nothing,to the rest of us that play golf, to play off scratch is a dream.
Anyway, point being he's at the Tiges to play football, not golf.

I reckon that it is a bit harsh, and could do more harm than good.

Missing a couple days of training this time of year means very little, especially to a seasoned pro like Anasta, and not allowing him a very rare opportunity could create a bit of unhappiness, on the flip side i reckon it would generate a bit of excitement amongst the squad having a team mate play in professional golf tournament.

Like most work places a happy place gets better results this is prob more true with professional sports groups.

I reckon almost every work place would grant an employee a couple days off to play in a professional golf tourny.

I spose setting tough ground rules upfront has it's own set of advantages.

Banasta choked big time at the tourney last year, maybe it's a blessing in disguise for him.

Bit rough, would have had a mountain of pressure on him, best case scenario he MIGHT have made the cut, worst case scenario he makes a massive joke out of himself.

Potter's no fool by the looks of things, getting OT but Sheens was not happy with the clowning around and Footy Show Buzz taking over training the last couple of years.Potter's just getting in early with the ground rules, just MO based on Scuttlebutt,it may be wrong.

Yeah, its probably about setting the tone. One in, all in. Loving Potters attitude.

I think we have to get used to these kinds of things or we will lose the SBWs and Benjis to other activities that pay more and allow them to sell themselves in whatever way they like.
