players state they love playing at LO i dont often see them say the same about CSS
2 from 17 at CSS is not great but we have had sone bad teams
39 from 101 at CSS takes into account 2005 premiership and semis in 2010 and 2011 so it is not just "recent" forn for CSS that is bad it is overall
I get it as an ex magpie man of course you enjoy CSS.
Players try there best everywhere they play so it not about that so much but more the fan experience and buzz LO gets that CSS simply doesnt have.
In the future when we play 7 games a year CSS may get that better atmosphere tine will tell.

I like it too to watch football at CSS rather than combank or accor
59 wins fron 100 games would indicate the team plays better at LO over the years

I will still continue to go to both grounds LO and CSS with my gold membership to support the tigers
 
Is 57% a fortress? I really don't know but I'd be surprised if top clubs are below 75. We are the worst performing club of recent years and it isnt close. Our stats are riddled with the evidence and even in our less embarrassing periods we made the finals 3 times between 2000 and 2012 so I guess 57% over 26 years probably is good for us.

Cambo rate of 2 out of 17 is probably the same as all non Leichhardt venues over the last few years. When you have seasons with 4 or 6 wins its hard to see a trend as wins essentially become random statistical anomalies.

It's like the 3 in a row curse (although I'd argue the 3 in a row curse is worse as we've had some dead simple opportunities and choked - we seemed to have a lot of double wins even when we have struglled to win single games).

Many of you will remember our long losing streak to Canberra and to break that the coach at the time (cleary) basically humiliated/motivated the team by writing all the thrashings on a whiteboard. Hoping the team decides, like that 2018 squad, that "enough is enough", get the monkey(s) off the back. We play well enough we win, zero doubt about the causal relationship there, but still go into most games with healthy scepticism that we play our best lol

Yeah, Im an ex Magpie but I have no connection whatsoever to Cambo

I probably like LO more than Cambo...great memories as a teen from Ashfield going to mid weekers there

Ive heard players rapping Cambo...some of you blokes just hear what you wanna hear

But if you want to bring up the overall record since our inception, dont say 1.3 games more per year is irrelevant because that figures not as impressive as youd like

What LO has a lot more of the=at CSS doesnt is established roots, generations, sons dads grandads = nostalgia

57% does not make it a fortress,however when you look at how poor we have been as a club since inception i would accept it quite happily for all of our home grounds.75% is what we need at home and 50% away,do that and we are top 4 every year imho.

I haven't heard many if at all rap campbletown, I must not have heard it.
they rap leichardt all the time and I get some fans having Leichardt being called the "spiritual home" gives some ex magpies like yourselves the poops. As a joint venture both grounds are spiritual homes to the club, the media seem to push LO in that sense a bit more

Nothing better for rugby league than playing sunday afternoon games at Leichardt oval in front of a packed out hill. Leichardt oval is still our best home ground win record overall even if you say it is just 1.3 games a year as that is the figure you are pushing in your narrative.
it is still a 57% winning record at LO which is far better than any other ground we have.

hopefully the more we play at Campbelltown that percentage improves starting this week, I am sure it will.
 
New year. Different team. I see us beating the Knights string a 3 games winning streak together. I remember when we won against Canberra in 2024 it was the first win at Campbelltown in a few years.

Wests Tigers are incredibly pleased to reveal an upgrade to facilities at Campbelltown Sports Stadium – in partnership with Campbelltown City Council – which has seen the Club’s home change room significantly refurbished.

The Wests Tigers Club and Interim CEO, Shaun Mielekamp extend their gratitude to Mayor Darcy Lound and Campbelltown City Council for their work in funding and facilitating the refurbishment, which stands as a first step towards the stadium’s complete redevelopment in 2028.

The refurbishment has seen the change room at the stadium constructed as a replica of those at the Wests Tigers training facility – the Zurich Centre in Concord. The project marks an important step in establishing a strong connection between the Club, the stadium and the broader region.

“The fit out is designed to replicate exactly what we’ve got at Concord. The boys will really feel like this is their home ground."

No detail was too small in replicating the change rooms at Concord, with the flooring, the size of seating stalls, available storage and they overall layout all been modelled on the Zurich Centre of Excellence to establish a comfortable connection for the playing group to their home ground.

Mielekamp explains that amongst the distinct features of the new change rooms is their positioning in the stadium.

“As part of this project we’ve also made the decision to change which side of the stadium we use as the home team. The boys will come in and sit on the right-hand side now, which is the same side they use at Leichhardt and at CommBank.”

He also reveals his excitement in allowing the Club to establish a deeper connection to its devoted Campbelltown fanbase.

“This is the first time we’ve had a permanent Wests Tigers logo stationed in the south-west of Sydney. It’s a really important step for us and part of our broader strategy in the region,” he said.

The sheds will be used for the first time this Sunday when the Tigers host the Knights at Campbelltown Stadium, and Mielekamp is confident that the upgrade will contribute positively to the team’s performance.

“All those one-percenters make a difference.”

But it doesnt matter where we are playing even at the 8th you could.hear a.pin drop last year in the 2nd.half of the cowboys game...there was no atmosphere no vocals when we lost our way.... so thats got nothing to do with Cambos w/l record

The crowd reacts at CSS when a breaks made.or a try is scored just as they do at LO

The thing is ...and i see it so often...people here, Wests Tigers fans supporters and members, seperate the crowds as they do the grounds..ie"the people.of cambo" or " the leichhardt faithful'....its like they see the other group as a seperate fanbase when we should be one
I dont go to every game...but i go to all our home grounds..but there are those that only go to either one of our traditional homes,.and maybe commbank or whatever stadium were at that year....and then they will.find something to moan about the other ground

Does.my head in.

I see your point and what you say could apply to certain people in Sydney. Perhaps they prefer a ground or maybe some are ex diehard Tigers supporters. I was a diehard Tigers supporter and now my team is Wests Tigers. If I lived in Sydney, I would go to either ground but I don't, I live on the Central Coast. This means that Cambo is a touch too far for me for one game. Having said that, I was going to make the trek to Cambo with my son this Sunday but he pulled out. I prefer Leichhardt as a venue, (nothing to do with the crowd) but I would happily go to both if I lived in Sydney.

I looked to get tickets for the upcoming games, so went on Ticketek site.

Left to right (or top to bottom) images show blue available sections/seats at (1) vs Knights at Campbelltown, (2) vs Broncos at Campbelltown, (3) vs Raiders at Leichhardt.

It is pretty interesting and disappointing at the same time.

Keen to hear your guys thoughts.
 
Campbelltown probably had the best atmosphere of any ground last year bar our game against the dogs. They were mostly close games that we lost and the crowd were into the matches and loud and supportive. It was really deflating when they lost most if not all of them. Souths and warriors games in particular were really good atmosphere with plenty of fans from the other team making it good.

As I've said before, Campbelltown gets a lot of families at the game who tend not to be as shouty as the sometimes raucous blokes of Leichhardt, who go in big groups to drink a lot and have a big social day, whether they're paying much attention to the actual game or not. Not knocking them, just you don't see as much of that crowd at Campbelltown.

I just notice a lot more restraint and nerves from the crowd at Campbelltown. You see them talking about line speed and following the play more. I see lots more people on phones and big groups not even watching the game at Leichhardt, so I'd say they're looser and louder at Leichhardt as well as just the enclosed nature of Leichhardt making it feels more like a cauldron.

Our losing at Campbelltown is really disappointing. You've got to win your home games. The only ground that really sucks as a home venue is Homebush. Just had no atmosphere. I hate to admit it, but I even like CommBank these days.

we should have been playing canberra at Campbelltown, Canberra's closest neighbour would have drawn a healthy crowd as it usually does.

LO against Canberra on a Thursday night is stupid scheduling, should never play at CSS or LO on a Thursday night to start with.

In saying that LO will still have a healthy crowd as it is an "event" ground despite being on a Thursday night

While good to look at the map could be a bit wrong, it will show all blue if there is at least 1 available seat, so the campbo game could be sold a lot more and they are just single here and there seats
