The culture of bullying and abuse at Wests Tigers..

Here's the rub.

The article at the start if this little CJ stated that the report was from 2015\. It stated that players had mentioned the suicide of Mosese and their worry of more to come. It stated that WT are now 2nd in a ranking of player welfare. It mentioned that the club was contacted for comment but the club refused.

Where will the legal action come from? Who will be sued and on what grounds?

The response from the club was slow, predictable, and pissweak. Anyone who thinks it has been well handled is kidding themsleves.

Hate the DT all you like but you have to understand that they are in this business and don't print stories like this unless they are sure they are within the bounds of the law. Get upset at the moralistic tone, for sure, go nuts, but this entire attitude of suing is just farcical. The paper exists because the people running it are very smart.

The full report paints WT in a bad light. Most of all JT and MO. They would have been better served to provide an immediate response of " Yes, read that report, disagree, move on" . The response given gave the whole thing oxygen and let the DT run a follow up

Our club is an easy target for these articles because of how poorly we are run. Never forget that the journos writing these articles are across all of the clubs. Why do they come back to WT? Simple isn't it?

The report is available for anyone with the stamina to look for it. JT is heavily names. The DT article went light on him. He should be sending a 6 pack or better to Holt Street, not having his bosses posture anout ill targeted legal action. And Brydens? They would get their arses handed to them in a defo case. Even they know better.

Here's a thought, toughen up or stay off sites where you might be offended.

You cannot expect people to forgo their right to free speech just because some people may be offended.

So it is okay for you to intentionally offend someone by calling them a drongo, is it?

Here's a thought, there is no toughness in being offensive as an anonymous keyboard warrior.

Offended by being called a drongo? Really?

Good luck in the real world.

Shut it Col you drongo. Fair dinkum.

My point exactly Geo.
We have many calling for heads to roll but they haven't read the report

The DT went light on us. Take the hit and walk on.

Umm..but you said ..The full report paints WT in a bad light. **Most of all JT and MO**..

So i'm assuming you have read the full report…the report or parts thereof leaked to the Sunday Telegraph was commissioned sometime in Aug 2015...O'Neill joined Wests Tigers in Feb 2016..

I'm sure a lot would be interested in said report,,,

Umm the fact that many / most fans were happy with the clubs response tells me WT did handle it well. For all you know, the club may have used the "consider legal action" angle simply to satisfy the supporters who expect an aggressive response.

If they had simply done as you suggest "old report, we are better now, move on" then a contingent of supporters would have thought "don't take that crap, fight back Tigers!" Most people don't have any idea of what is a solid or weak legal case, and really it doesn't matter, we all know Tigers will not take the DT to court, it just never happens like you say.

IMO I thought the did alright with what was a grenade of a story. Thanking God that NRL ranked us 2nd this year in player welfare, so we had that to lean on, then there were a number of club-initiated articles in the following days quoting players who were hosing down the idea that elements of the team were unhappy.

DT waited a week and then ran the story about Mosese's girlfriend, trying to pull more emotion in the article and Tigers left it alone.

Then Bulldog ran the "can't believe how many players Tigers have coming off the books this year" article which was also clearly bunkum as half the comp is off contract, and Tigers left that alone too. Tigers angle has been training, return of Idris, new player management team, new coaching structure - all ignoring any further DT bait and besides the ongoing debate in here, I don't think anyone else is actually talking about the topic any more.

Again I don't think a heap have an issue with the article Glen

Putting pictures of Mosese and then doing an Interview with Mosese's partner is below the belt and shows massive disrespect for any person suffering from any mental illness

Again 70% of children who parents commit suicide will attempt suicide

When Mosese's daughter is old enough she will want to read these articles wanting to know more about her Dad

Media across the board need to start putting a positive spin on mental illness , seeing that at least 1 in 3 will suffer some form of mental illness , many that go undiagnosed because of the stigma attached

Don't get cute Hammertime. I'm the only one on this forum who uses their own name.

Mines mark.

So the telegraph does not mention the positives. Which shows they probably had somewhat of an agenda.

This report into the Tigers, can you at least tell us how it was based? All the content we've seen seems to be selective quotes seem from possible disgruntled players on the chopping block. Was there input from management?

Go and co have come out strongly which says to me that the telegraph couldn't have been light on her otherwise she wouldn't want to provoke them to releasing more.

Just doesn't make any sense to me Glen/Sam.

Plz provide the report Glen

No

Why not?

It is not available online and you will have to do the legwork yourself. If you really want it that is. Or you can maintain your opinion based upon what has been drip fed to you thus far.

It doesn't have to be online for you to share Glen…. We're all on the same side here believe it or not.
Sharing is informing teaching and learning... You can either maintain your elitist attitude and carry on like a flog.... Or share with your clubs Co fans.
FTR you may have noted my opinion hasn't been drip fed, I stated I didn't think the club would go ahead with legal action.
Ditch the attitude
