There is a shortage of centres across the competition. They are not easy to find or replace. St George have two pretty good ones better than a lot of clubs.
 
Wests Tigers need a good centre. It surely must not be too hard for Sheens/Madge to find a decent to sign NOW and to take us to the end of this season. Gildart seems like a nice guy but really doesn't cut it as a first grade centre/wing. I feel for the other players who didn't deserve to lose.

Wests Tigers need a centre who can tackle. Aiken would be suitable at a good proce.

Absolutely...

We have been shocking when it comes to recruiting centers.

Kei is nowhere near NRL level.

Pauga is horrendous defensively...

No state cup guys applying pressure.

Reece Hoffman could not get a game even when we were decimated last year...and is now a bench forward for the Dogs.

These are our "dev" centers

And Gildart was a terrible, undersized, defender in the UK SL.

It is incredible really how poorly we have recruited at center for years now.

He shocker v Souths last week. His UK SL defense was shocking. There was no positive. I watch most SL games...this is normal for him over there.

Either way was a gamble. But with Peachey, at least there was a chance it ended up well.

not arguing your logic.... I get Peachey, 4 of 5 games he is going to cost us. Looks like a genius if you watch his career with alzheimers. You can bank on Gildart to be sub par, you cannot bank on Peachey at all.

Gildart is todays whipping boy... but Toa over-ran Hunt for his try, Brooks passed and then strolled over the line, Liddle did his customary pass into the ground behind everybody, 5'ish bombs hit the deck, Tuilagi was denied by a foul yet not awarded the penalty try, and thats not even trying to find moments that punished us...

Im not backing Gildart, just not blowing up like a reactionary tart. Doueihi, Toa or Roberts in the centres... still need a FB... honestly think we missed Stefano more...

Just think anyone backing a 20% utility, vs 80% consistent peak performer is crazy odds and is overly emotional.

And, I don't know if you watch UK SL, but horrendous D over there...

That "one handed grab" on Ben Hunt has happened a lot. He has "tackled" on his line like that for years. I don't expect you to know that as maybe you have not seen him...but I do expect our coaches to know. This is not a one off...it has been the norm.

How many penalties has Gildart given away this season? How long has he spent in the bin?

You are all talking him up as a composed professional, and not the B grade Benji he is...
 
I'm not piling into Gildart. His defense is really bad but he was like that in England. He doesn't make the team when we are fully fit.

Our spine didn't create enough today. To'a should be one of our first outside backs picked but he isn't a fullback. Liddle is okay. Brooks was good but he was basically our only threat out wide. Hastings was good in the middle but he needs to do more.

There is something to work with in this squad though. If we can get some players back from injury we might turn it around. Doueihi should make a difference.

That's interesting. I don't agree Peachey at fullback, but you could manufacture something funky. Toa defends at fullback, takes kick returns etc, does a lot of the running. Peachey defends left centre.

Then in attacking shapes, Peach plays the roving fullback role, with Toa left centre.

It's not ideal, but we need to bandaid things best we can until Laurie is back. Could work

Yet "effort at training" saw Gildart get picked v Saints...and it cost us the game. That one selection cost us the game.

Peachey should have been challenged and revved up...played at ceneter...look at his whole history and Peachey always comes up with a gem after a few bad ones.

We don't need a doghouse when we have 4 backs out. You need to be sensible with this stuff.

I respect attitude at training and effort...and discipline...and I get why Peachey is in there...

But Gildart was atrocious v Souths and anyone could see this coming. Gildart's selection cost us the game.
