The future is looking bright

I've never seen him do anything at NRL level ,I know he's had little opportunity but the only evidence so far is a little vague .Played almost no NRL and has he starred at Cup level ?
I've not seen it so far !
Our half's on the books for 2025 Galvin ,Luai ,Sezer and maybe Mason and Sullivan is still on the books .So is he needed ? I'm open minded but need to see something
However if he's as good as his brother Samuela than I'm supportive .
Certified myth until proven otherwise

And finally we have a long term plan , not a plan to keep coming 10th every year. I’m on board and I believe in richo, if he could turn Souths around he can do wonders here.
"The Plan" was to sack Madge and install Sheens as head coach for 2 seasons (commencing 2023) whilst mentoring Benji to take over in year 3 (commencing 2025) and be the head coach until the end of 2027. Their mandate was to bring our juniors through into first grade, supplying experience to aid them in their transition. The experience came in the form of Api, Papali'i, Klemmer and Bateman for season 2023, more for season 2024 (turned out to be Olam and Sezer) and whoever else for season 2025 (which is so far Luai). Along the way we have unearthed the talents of Fonua Pole, Jahream Bula and Tallyn Da Silva in 2023, Lachlan Galvin and Samuela Fainu in 2024 and have purchased Sunia Turuva for 2025. All very positive, sounds good on paper.

HOWEVER. This Wests Tigers. This club is allergic to success. You cannot blame the fanbase for being sceptical nor for getting angry when told to shut up and be patient. Our 5 year plan fell on its arse within its first year costing the jobs of board members - including the Chairman, CEO, Head Coach, Recruitment Manager, Training and Coaching Staff and several high profile players. The plan has resulted in a wooden spoon in 23 and likely another in 24 - our third in succession. We now have talented players attempting to break contract and leave - one successfully, whilst others are being shopped around at the beginning of their contracts. This does not breed team harmony and ultimately a winning culture. It also presents a lack of faith in "the plan". Our only positive is that the new bloke in charge is a true leader, however his health is a concern and the stress of this job cannot be good for that. What is his realistic longevity here?

There are the whispers of green shoots, but ultimately, this squad is not playing NRL level footy week to week. Their defence is abysmal, their efforts on either side of the ball when it comes to kicking is poor, their discipline is a shambles and their attack rudimentary and easily rejected. They do not look to be coached nor prepared well enough. The "long term plan" sounds good in a romantic type of way. Whether it turns out to be achievable remains to be seen. Either way, fans are well within their rights to think its just more lip service...afterall, the evidence of improvement is not deserving of any congratulations so far.

Settle down. They changed everything! You expected instant results?

Edit: I was as passionate as you are before they sacked the previous admin, now I understand the new guys (with a super young squad) need time.

I understand that, just dont react well when someone pisses on my head and tries to tell me its raining.
The reason we changed everything within the first year of our "big new plan" is because we couldnt sustain it...therefore it was a shit plan.
We now have a new one, which appears a copy of the old one albeit with better people in charge of it.
Its had an ordinary beginning in a lot of areas.

I tend to think sacking Sheens was a panic play by an administration who had their own self interest driving all their actions because they knew they’d run their race. A complete waste of a year. Richo wouldn’t do that.

Reintroducing Sheens could be said to be a panic play....

To me its not really about this plan or that plan . Even though we now have a rookie coach I don't think that matters that much .Collectively with Benji and John and Robbie and even Heighington putting his 2 cents worth in there is enough football brain power there
I think its mainly been a really weak roster that's put us where we are ,Sure this coaching panel should have been able to see this 6 months go .
You take a fairly weak roster and hit it with a lot of injuries and suspensions then you see that the replacements were not up to it .
BUT now I am starting to see a growing list of class footballers and a couple young future stars and with 2025 arrivals we might just get to a sufficient list or that "critical mass " of quality that rubs off on a few others and so the quality list grows even more .
You can't have a top 30 where half of it are deadwood but if we clean out some and add more class then winning becomes a habit and coaching is not as hard
SUMMARY to me the Roster is more important than the Coach
