There is a difference between "fans" and "Supporters"
A fan may change clubs he/she supports and may not want to stick by when his/her team is down any out

A Supporter on the other hand will stick by thick and thin, rain, hail or shine, the highs and lows of a club. A supporter is a real die hard, not so much a fan

I can safely say most here are die hards, the passion, the emotions(in words) and the care we have for our team/club

Keep it up guys, we will get through this

As supporters we should be obtaining membership as a minimum in supporting the club financially. No ones denying the problems, issues and mismanagement that has gone on but i find it hard to fathom that by not supporting the club with memberships (financially) is there ever going to be an easier way to help the club get out of the mess that people seem to have so much of a problem with.

Talk about fairweather supporters, if we were an army i'd hate to follow some WT supporters into battle.

"fairweather supporters" give me a break, lets talk about the fans that dont care if we win or lose and accept mediocrity, id hate to follow some of those WT supporters into battle theyd be putting flowers in the enemies gun barrels and wanting to hug it out.

I'd more a liken the fairweather fans as deserters. Only there when the good times roll.

I will always be a tigers fan but im am pretty close to walking away from rugby league. Firstly i think the game itself is a bit of a shambles and 2ndly we are a bad club.

Now i will never truley walk away from the club but wow surely we have the worst record ever for making semis. 3 times in 15 years is just hard to stay positive for.

You can call non members deserters all you like. But it's a growing number. Until the owners put some serious cash into the club then things won't be getting be better. They have the money.

That is the difference between a Manly and a Wests Tiger supporter, WTDiehard - Tiger supporters are the salt of the earth, (never say die, throw what you like at us, knock us down but count on us getting back up again, type of supporters).

Balmain and Western Suburbs supporters were the same - hard times, don't care, we'll stick together and come out all the better for it.

What happened to all these Wests Tigers supporters, get a few things that don't go your way and they want out. Whinging and crying about this and that - blimey these old supporters (e.g. Laurie Nichols) would turn over in their grave.

This guy whoever he is, says he has decided he won't be a member this year because he is not liking it. Well Mate! Wests Tigers don't need you when they are winning the competition or finishing in the the top four. They need you now, when they are struggling for all they are worth. They need support, more than ever.

You don't hear Teddy saying I have played the first six rounds and I don't like how we are going or some of the decisions that are being made so I am not playing the rest of the season.

I have been following this team in one form or another for 66 years and there have been plenty of lean times in there I can tell you. Do you give up. NO.
Suffer the bad times with the club, the players and other diehard supporters - because when it comes good it is sweeter than ever.

Wake up to yourself, stop being so pitiful and get behind our beloved Tigers and support them to the hilt.

The team loves fans like you. Why would they change if fans just accept everything that they do and continue to give support and money? Just do the same old incompetent rubbish and everyone will buy it and you'll still make profits.

No, I'm not saying be a bandwagoner. I personally can handle losing when I can see the team is managed at even a mediocre level of competence. I can handle losing when there's signs of getting better. I can handle losing when there is a plan. None of these exists in this scenario. Don't expect change by still feeding them money and telling them everything is OK.

The simple fact is that the vast majority of RL fans are fairweather fans. It's alright for us on a WT forum to run our eyes over every minute detail, but the general public really couldn't give a hoot, and just want to associate themselves with a winning team.
This is not a WT problem, this is a Sydney/RL problem and applies across the city. How many of you work with people that claim they are big fans of <insert team="" name="">and yet never ever go to a game, let alone a membership?</insert>

All a bit drastic. They have played 6 games and have been in a position to win all 6\. There has not been a game yet where they have been no chance of winning, translation: they are competitive.

They are no more than 15% improvement away from being a top 8 team.

15%. Really?. That's a surprise Gary. Imo, defence alone needs at least 50% improvement.
Then we need to improve our ball control, execution and kicking game.
Add the fact that our halves need to improve their footy smarts on top of that, would bring it up higher then 15% :wink:

SUre they want members, but IM not a member to give the club money, Im a member because I enjoy going to games of football.

Look at our team on paper! As I stated before a ball was kicked this year, if The Weststigers make the 8? JT should get the keys to the city. With the talent & experience we have on the field each week, I believe we are heading in the right direction, we are very competitive. The problems ppl highlight after every game is proportionate to the team running out. We were told we had a 3 year plan, which would sort out the problems & enable us to be very active in the player market for 2017\. The management deserve praise, for not deviating from the enormous task that has been undertaken. Hang in there champ, all associated with the organisation are doing well, even the boys on the field are punching well above their weight. Next season we will be able to purchase more experience and established 1st graders like Grant. Go Weststigers!
